US Climate Change Malfeasance Continues

“The US has also attempted to steer the UN report, prepared by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), away from conclusions that would support a new worldwide climate treaty based on binding targets to reduce emissions. It has demanded a draft of the report be changed to emphasise the benefits of voluntary agreements and to include criticisms of the Kyoto Protocol, which the US opposes.”

Well, I told you so. Rotten b*stards. Instead of accepting any frickin responsibility for greenhouse gasses and the human contribution to climate change, their “solution” is to block the sun.

You know, what is more scary then the blatant lying going on, is how mickeying around with the sunlight could backfire on the whole planet. Climate change is a natural response to the changing conditions on the Earth. But these “fools”, think they can somehow harness this and mitigate it’s response by blocking sunlight, a hugely unnatural response.

Sure, it might work. And it might backfire horribly. Why not just deal with the problem?

Because that would require the US to face it’s responsibilities, something it refuses to do:

It also wants more emphasis on responsibilities of the developing world.

What’s really wierd and contradictory as all get out, is how the US wants to “tone down” the “negative effects of climate change” while at the same time, deploying a doomsday “salvation fix” in response to that same “negative threat”.

The duplicity of the US government does not shock or stun or even amaze me anymore.  But the stupidity still does.

I wonder if the elites don’t have a better understanding of the situation than the liberals who are pushing CO2 controls. Where as the liberals believe all we gotta do is reduce our CO2 production and everything will be OK, the US elites realize that not only will this hurt our economy, but it will still do no good in the long run. The only way to do any good would be to stop nearly all CO2, which of course would not just hinder our economy, but would be the end of our civilization as we know it. This is just unthinkable to those in power.

If you look at it this way the liberals are in self-denial and the conservatives are just outright lying.

No, this is the same old mindset at work again. With the “space mirror”, the cost can be shifted to taxpayers (i.e. the working class), while the corporations and rich individuals with the most culpability continue with business as usual.
