The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine has urged the U.S. Federal government to launch a research program to remove carbon dioxide from Earth’s atmosphere.
Incorrectly-termed “clean energy” isn’t coming about fast enough and immediate removal of carbon dioxide is needed to stave off dangerous temperature increases. However, it’s a bad time to make such a request in the anti-science, anti-fact, anti-everything Trump Administration, so don’t hold your breath.
The need to eliminate 10 billion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere per year is a enormous task – that we won’t do. And while I’m at it – there is no such thing as “clean energy” either. All forms of energy produced by mankind are STILL downstream from fossil fuel energy sources. Anyway – despite the increasing warnings from science and scientists, this will most likely get a pass, Trump thinks he knows more then the world’s best experts anyway.
