Rewriting The Laws

Here is a good reason (one of them) why I have never bothered with a CCW:

The Sheriff’s Department has begun the process of revoking hundreds of concealed weapon permits across Orange County.

This week, department officials confirmed that 146 letters have been sent out advising current license holders that their permits to carry firearms in public ““ called CCWs ““ are being revoked. There are currently 1,024 permit holders. Sheriff Revokes Concealed Carry Permits

What’s really amazing is only 1,024 permits were issued in a county containing millions! But I do not believe that asking permission from some official for something that is a personal right is either moral or ethical. Moreover, adding your name to a database which can be used against you like this is also a good reason to just ignore such a law.

“Lawful” carry is a bogus concept in the first place and always has been. Compliance with such a law is your personal choice.

Read the entire article.  Returning political favors by rewarding certain parties with permits by the (s)Elected sheriff is commonplace today.

Maybe the REAL purpose of the concealed-carry law(s) is/was to help create lists of those who would carry arms. Now many states have those lists.

But then, as you suggested, many people don’t feel a need for applying for a permit to do something many would do anyway–permit or not.

Laws are never meant for the lawful, who will (usually) do the right thing anyway, laws or no laws. Laws are meant to provide a legal pretext to punish those who refuse to comply. Submission to self-appointed authority is the goal — not “lawfulness”.

In this case, it is not about concealed carry and who has the “right”, or the basic right to bear arms (anywhere), laws such as this are meant to be inflicted in the truest sense of the word as a reward or a punishment to those who refuse to comply with self-appointed authority.

In a county of millions, one replete with gang-bangers and such like, it is evident that “rights” isn’t an issue and never was. Come on, only 1024 permits?

This is why I disregard such laws — they are absolutely meaningless and to comply means to submit to arbitrary “authority”, one which I never approved of nor authorized.

My life is my own and will not be regulated by “authority” that chooses to be arbitrary, illegal and biased. Especially when it comes to protecting my own life or that of my family. Asking “permission” to do what is my right is absurd and will never be asked.
