Ok, What Happens Next?

Let’s hear from you and your predictions / assessments on what you think will happen next as it relates to collapse.

I’ve been predicting a Hillary win for a long time, but I haven’t mentioned this for quite a while now. This could be the (first) prediction that I’ve been wrong about (I think), since Obama and that other guy look to be the front runners these days.

Personally, I think it doesn’t matter one bit who wins (who in their right mind would want the job in the first place?) since they will simply inherit a horrific situation which is only going to get worse.  So if you have political prediction, that’s fine, but lets “talk” about the other stuff.

Heard a partial broadcast that included a prediction that martial law will be implemented in August.  I’m not “feeling it” myself, but I could definitely be wrong.  Beelzebub could pull something out of his ass anytime now.  We do have another (s)Election up-and-coming and saving their own hides could definitely be on the agenda. My guess is the creeps will simply pardon themselves in advance and declare it legal, but martial law is NEVER very far from my mind.

The recent spate of cop killings (murdering citizens) and abuse of the public has still got me thinking that there is a devious plan behind all the violence.  Or not, maybe we’re just dealing with wacked out morons with guns and a major inferiority complex.

So martial law, or alien invasion, which will it be?  Between now and the say, the end of the year to keep this in perspective and pertinent to the here and now, what do you think will happen next?

I’ll go first on Iran – NOT.  Not going to happen, despite all the blustering, flag waving bullshit we’re seeing. I don’t care if there are battle groups arrayed around the entire country (well, nearby of course), I just don’t “see it”.  I hope I’m right.  I suspect that most of the major lamestream media is just playing along with all the fear-mongering bullshit we’ve come to know and love from this asinine Administration.  But I’m definitely NOT feeling that an attack is actually going to happen.

I’m absolutely sure many will disagree with this.  Good — that why this post is being written.  Let’s hear it.

It’s weird that you mention that. I’ve been feeling as though something will happen in August too. I don’t know what but in any case it will be this year, something around the election. Maybe at the DNC, that’s in August, right?

If there were riots there for some reason, or Billary steals the nomination (which would cause riots elsewhere for sure), I could see martial law in cities. But everywhere? That seems too extreme to me. But who knows what these people have planned out. They didn’t write all those Orders for nothing.

I think that there’s enough resistance from the military that we won’t be in another war this year … unless something ‘happens’ that ‘justifies’ it. But the way most people feel these days it would have to be written in the sky obvious to get people to buy it. In this military town people are just about fed up with all the lies and the lack of respect from the government for the well-being of the troops (the VA situation most particularly). So I don’t know. You can only push people so far. A military coup or revolt among the troops could literally tear the country apart.

I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m just trying to be grateful for every day I get.

I could see a number of things…an assassination attempt (on Obama), I could see a false flag event that shuts down the election…

Still, all in all, the hubby and I have decided we’re voting for Cthulu for president this year…at least he admits he’s evil.

    McCain/Lieberman are the next Pres/VP.

Clinton has a 40% chance of stealing it from Obama. Not enough blue collar and red neck white males will support him for a win against McCain. New York Jewish neocon pro Israel take the oil imperial-industrial-military-media complex are for the Great Whore Clinton. Obama, Rev. Wright, or something unexpected can still trip him up if it turns off the super delegate establishment which counts on the aboves money and grace to keep office.

Bush bombs a shit load of military and infrastructure targets in Iran but does not invade.

Alien sex bots place anal probes in Bush’s and Cheney’s asses. They find Bush’s head in his (of course). In Cheney they find shotgun shells, small rodents, and a greased fire hose nozzle.

IMO – A near certainty of more of the same, only much more of it and increasingly faster and closer to home, until something snaps and precipitates a chain reaction (implosion).
Additionally, a (long-planned) manufactured ‘crisis’ in 2008 is more than mere possibility. Say “Hi” to all the nice Gestapo baby-butchers and ‘god-bless’ the Food & Water Police.
Civilization is like a helicopter with no pilot, out of fuel, and failed tail rotor – out of control and going down. Bye bye.

The PPT (which now includes Central Banks of other countries) is dumping gold to keep other markets intact.
The economic house of cards will shudder and swoon.
The price of gas and diesel will rocket upwards bringing all the attendant problems with them. More and bigger layoffs; probably major restaurant chains will be declaring bankruptcy.
I expect an Iran event any second. And I expect it to lead to WW111.
And of course food riots will get worse and governments will take more extreme measures to quiet the hungry masses.

As has been stated hard times will hit poor areas the hardest first. I believe this will be compounded by Obama winning the election. He is raising the expectations of Blacks and they will not be met. I see the inner cities having racial tensions mixed with the poverty and famine. Also,I am not sure how this plays into things but there is consequence of sending food aid to starving places in the world. With free food flooding the market what local farming is in place is being driven out of business by the price being driven down. Is it their intention to look like humanitarians while all the time they are securing their monopoly on food resources? Their are so many things happening I don’t know how it all fits together, I’m just another victim of the Great American Mind Fuck!

I think the mid-east will be more prominent in the next several months and will influence US policy. I feel Benjamin Netanyahu will take control and put Israel back on a nationalistic course. I think this will result in the bombing of Iranian nuke facilities and create a whole new scenario for the area (and the world).

I believe 9-11 V.2.0 will unravel sooner or later and that it will have to be of nuclear proportions. Why? Because that would provide the powers that be with the “moral justification” they need to fabricate consent from the outraged malleable masses and world powers, thereby oiling the war engine for a nuclear retaliatory strike on the framed perpetrators and pre-emptive nuclear or chemical / bio strikes on anyone else standing in the way of the NWO. I don’t believe a mere dirty bomb would suffice due to the unspectacular effects it would produce compared to a mushroom cloud. I’m also increasingly of the opinion that the NWO is using Amerikan aggression to provoke a shock response from the oriental powers, as well as from Islamic malcontents.

One thing that may stall this for a while is the completion of the martial law infrastructure, i.e., all that horrible Orwellian technology (face recognition, behaviour analysis software, “cyber fingerprinting”, etc). It’s hard to know just how much they deem they need and just at what stage they are at with this. Certainly the legals of it all have been assembled at what looks like a frantic pace, so I am assuming time is very short for martial law.

Interestingly, I see no obvious counterparts in Orwellian Britain or the continent to the FEMA camps in the USA, which leads me to ask why is Amerika being primed for mass arrests and Europe is not (or so it seems)? That’s something that needs to be looked into.

The incrementalist war on liberty will continue at as high a speed as the sheeple can sleep through in the developed nations, where the cost of living will continue to soar and the middle classes will increasingly find themselves financially emaciated.

OK. First, what didn’t happen. No move on Iran so far. I guess Israel isn’t ready yet or it would look too suspicious at this time.

So, I’m going to say that Iran won’t be hit until there is a “terrorist strike” in Israel (possibly nuclear) and Israel is “allowed” to retaliate with justifiable nuclear force, which will be applauded for how “constrained and limited” it will be.

The US Presidential election won’t matter, at all, unless one of the current 3 candidates is replaced at the last minute by someone who the majority of Americans can believe is the Anti-Christ. Then there might be some squawking, but there still won’t be any denying the results and all the “election rigging” speculation will be just more of that “conspiracy nut stuff”.

Food will continue to be a problem in the rest of the world but soon (6 months) the prices will come down in a big way in the US and Americans will go back to sleep. Monsanto will come to the rescue of the rest of the world and a new “golden age” of prosperity will ensue (this will start by the end 2015). Of course, cheap food will only be temporary and will be used as an instrument of political control in the future, with people being denied the ability to purchase food without the right approvals or whatever.

Oil will go up, continually for the foreseeable future. $200 a barrel is not beyond the realm of possibility by the new year. It will all be smoke and mirrors created by speculation and the Israel-Iran thing. Regardless of the price, Americans as a culture will not change their driving practices, even at $5 a gallon for gas, because it will always be alot cheaper than Europe. SUV’s will get alot more fuel efficient (like they could be now, if we wanted).

    Good Luck!

I predict a major shitstorm of whining in this country as the sheeple are stirred from their fast-food induced coma and wake up to the new mantra, “less is more”. SUV parks will arise to supply cheap housing for the disenfranchised.

Interest rates will skyrocket in response to that giant sucking sound of foreign investment in U.S. Treasuries leaving.

Something big will happen overseas/domestically to keep the neocons in power.

I don’t see a reason for many of these things to take place. High energy and food prices are just creating more economic slaves who are more dependent on keeping their jobs than ever, and keeping the financial system stable is in the genuine interest of the same people that benefit from this economic shift (wars/martial law would upset this).

Honestly, I don’t see anything happening. The election will take place in November, and things will go on. I don’t think things will change much under Obama, but of the three on offer, he is probably the best choice (unless you’re intent on your predictions coming true). Things will continue to get worse with the economy, housing, food, and energy… I think we’ll just be riding it to the beginning of a natural conclusion.

If nothing is done to try and derail Obama — by whatever means — I think that’s a pretty good case for the fact that he is considered a “safe bet” by the establishment, and further support for the idea that nothing will change.

Ah, predicting can be fun. Okay, here’s mine:

Obama will appear to be winning the (s)election process right up until a Tuesday night in November, when, with just 1% of the votes counted, he will have officially lost to 100 year war McInsane by a slight but plausible number of ‘votes’. Assuming Obama isn’t shot dead first. McInsane will suffer a heart attack or anurism/stroke while in office, probably during a heated banter with some cub reporter, followed shortly by a nationwide move to strip the 1st amendment from the Constitution.

The military industrial bankster policies will continue as they have, no war with Iran but much saber rattling and money frittered away. Wealth redistribution will continue unabated. The Fed will take over oversight of the markets, meaning a Boris Yeltsin style free for all. Iraq will see the opening of hotel chains, restaurants, and malls and perhaps even a Chicommart in the ever-growing blast-walled Potemkin village known as the green zone, which will be pointed to as “progress”.

The Fed will continue to expand total credit at an alarming and growing clip, despite finally stabilizing discount rates. The dollar’s freefall will continue as foreign investment continues to flee the country, despite “great bargains” (lol). Most homeowners will suck it up and keep paying on their albatross. Those forced to relocate due to lost jobs, etc, will simply walk away in record numbers, leaving behind boarded up overgrown and delapidated glue and particleboard McMansions, which will be taken over by the growing number of homeless, jobless, and drug addicted. The mythical and rapidly disappearing middle class will continue to slip further into indenturehood, just as they have for the last 30 years, but at a steadily accelerating pace thanks to bonar devaluation and soaring commodity prices for increasingly peaking resources, from food to energy, all the while being spoon-fed the myth that you too can be rich if only you ______(fill in the blank).
Another couple of years, and few will believe it anymore. Grumbling from the proletariat is already evident in the grocery and gas lines. Expect greater attempts at misdirection (it’s the environmentalists fault! It’s the oil companies fault! It’s the Ethiopian’s fault!)
Credit card rates will soar thanks to delinquencies and lost income from mortgages, ending the era of easy credit, without which many will simply go without, bringing a novel concept back from the dead…..austerity.

The still-sleeping sheeple will accept, neigh, embrace even more Orwellian fascism, which will continue to creep along just under the surface. Armed guards at gas stations and grocery stores by 2010, you know, to prevent ‘turrizm’. By then, 1 in 3 will work for the security state in some form or another (up from 25% presently), as many other jobs simply disappear. Tax credits will be offered to the rich to help ease the pain.

All but two domestic airlines will be belly up by 2010, catering to those who can still afford a $1000 ticket from NY to Atlanta. Gas will average $5.25/gal by next Memorial Day, as oil approaches $170/barrel, and even more nations (all the small gulf ones) drop their dollar peg. SUV’s will be sold for scrap, if at all (already heading in that direction), and GM will finally go belly up and either its assets will be purchased by the Chinese for a song, or such will be blocked in a protectionist move, at which point any remaining foreign capital infusions might dry up completely, forcing the US government to default on its debt.

Anybody else notice that nobody is predicting even a slight improvement in the state of affairs?

Does everyone who reads this blog realize what this means?

Not that we have a magic crystal ball — but let me spell it out for the readership at large:

If nothing improves, even slightly, our swirling decline into collapse is a foregone conclusion. It’s not a “how” questions so much as it is a “when” question. The trigger event (if there is one) isn’t necessary or needed. We will implode irregardless.

This means exactly what I’ve been trying to share for some years on this blog. Our collapse as a civilization is overdue, necessary and inevitable. Food prices will skyrocket much, much further then they already have. Oil depletion rates will become much, much steeper with staggeringly high prices. Distribution of goods and transportation will become much more difficult and increasingly expensive, and on and on and on.

This means that you dear reader, are well and truly fucked. It’s never going to get any better, we’ve reached our absolute zenith already, this is the downhill slide into oblivion and there is absolutely nothing you or I or any can do about it.

Our governmental mifits aren’t doing anything either, so paying attention to the next (s)Election is a total waste of our limited time — time which we must each individually spend getting our crashstead plans in place and ready.

Ready for what? Ready for a world of severe suffering and depletion. Ready for starving masses. Ready for unending resources wars pile high with the bones of the drones that have been sent off to die. Ready for the “end of the world as we know it”. TEOTWAWKI is here, it has already “arrived”.

Therefore, using my magic crystal ball and deep investigate “skills” with the helpful input of this fine audience — do it NOW.

If nothing is going to improve (and I very much concur with this assessment) and everything remains a downhill slide into the razor sharp abyss, whatever you need to get done (and I’m sure it’s quite a lot), now is the time to do it while you still have the tinest chance left to do so.

Flagellating the flock is never fun, but I’m oft reminded in private emails to keep it up.

Rather then “give it away” in the obscurity of a comment entry, see the next blog post, shortly forthcoming.

I’m afraid so, John. More of the same and worse, and yes, America, as an Empire, peaked some time back (according to many, the late 1960’s-early 1970’s, the same timeframe as peak happiness, peak energy usage per capita, the same time period we went from being the world’s greatest lender and manufacturer to greatest debter, borrower, and profiteer) and yes, it’s all slow swirling about the urinal from here on in.
In some respects, this has already been the case for 20+ years, as an entire generation (and rapidly working on #2) of Americans already realize that, even with rose colored glasses on, that life will not be as good for them as it was for their predecessors.
Rome of the 3rd century A.D. continues to seem the most apt comparison. Slow, unsteady, collapse, in the Catton (Overshoot), Tainter (Collapse of Complex Societies), and Diamond (Collapse) sense of the word.

Here’s my thoughts on the collapse near term.

There is widespread feeling now of generalized anxiety that is emerging as the weight of evidence piles up that big changes, possibly permanent, are unfolding. This is real fear, not bogus 911 bullshit, but it has nonetheless been enabled by the relentless fear mongering since 911. The spirit of the citizenry is seriously eroded now, if not broken. Imminent $4-5.00 gasoline will seal the deal.

As this evidence based fear eclipses the Orwellian pipe dreams of inexorable prosperity, the US is wide open for a fascistic madman or madwoman (alas we have choices). Even old guard republicans, the ones who believe in obsolete notions like the bill of rights and local control, are awakening and railing against the madness a bit. Witness Kevin Phillips.

Returning Iraq vets are largely disillusioned with empire, and they kill themselves in large numbers. A recent study projected that their suicides will eclipse the number that died in the war. These are not soldiers who will turn against the citizenry. Their rage is against the state.

    T. Boone Pickens says world oil demand will outstrip world supply by 2M barrels a day in the 3rd quarter of this year. This will compound all the problems further. A deeply devalued, declining US dollar harms our ability to compete in the world market.

No need for a false flag event, we have plenty of material for fear and hardship. I believe in the third quarter we will recognize for the first time we are heading into a depression, not just a recession. The fantasy of rebound will no longer be propped up.

The winner of the next election will envy the losers. I see no appetite for martial law because the party on the sidelines can blame all the problems on the party in power, and they will.

Because of the scope of hardship and discontent, and likely rioting, there will be no way to control it. I do not believe there is any police or military force sufficient to control events, or scalable to do so. How the collapse will play out is not obvious to me, but when the food stops, I don’t see anything but tragedy.

I see a US famine as possibly in play. During the depression I think 25% of the population was still on the (small) farm, and just about everyone else had been on one. That was a safety net. No such farm net exists today. We have a 3 day supply of food in the stores, and probably 90% of the population dependent on it. With no farms to go to for food, no gas to even find one, I see the US quickly devolving into a 3rd world country, worse really.
Worse because at least a 3rd world country has many more farmers by proportion, and it has a cultural memory of subsistence. We are aphids and pantywaists by comparison, not tough enough to survive.

Famine in a first world country that devolves quickly to third world status is deep and tragic. I see 100s of thousands dying, possibly in 2009. We only require 3 things, high unemployment, a bad crop year and spot oil shortages for huge problems. All of these are in play, but this is the hard part to call.

We are a country without meaningful locality, no useful cultural memory, and divorced from the wild. This is a formula for apocalypse. This is what I see, a year or two out.

I won’t try to make any specific short term predictions because the ecosphere is reacting so wildly. However, I am not sure that John’s prediction of 95% dieoff in 20 years is correct. Personally, my own expectation is 97%-99% dieoff but the time frame could vary from 20 years to over 100.

If you look at collapses historically, many (not all) have been stair step type collapses. Basically a society collapses to a new low, stabilizes there temporarily, then falls to the next low. When collapse occurs this way, it stretches out the total time of collapse but usually means far worse ecological damage. This is what I am really afraid will occur, because it will give civilization the longest possible time to finish hosing down the ecosystem. It would also fit with elitists in power trying to hold to power as long as possible.

Of course the one big variant in there that cannot be easily predicted is global thermonuclear war. If we go down that route, all bets are off except the 97% dieoff number.

I will state that a fast collapse is preferable to a longer, catabolic collapse. I’m just not certain that we will see a fast collapse. Catabolic collapse also means that most of us alive will spend the rest of our lives in heavily controlled fascist states. A fast collapse might give the survivors some chance at freedom.

Lots of if’s ands or but’s in predicting things.

    My inner personal feeling is:

#1 – Iran is not invaded yet because Israel is just now celebrating their 6oth aniversey, and we have primaries going on still, wait till this settles down – look for a invasison or bombings sometime end of August or early Sept.

#2 – Look for China to get REALLY SERIOUS about dumping dollar and rejecting buying more and making strong movement to teaming with Russia after their hosting of the Olympics is done…

#3 – Sometime between now and end of 2010 look for a MAJOR natural disaster to hit US/Canada area

#4 – As the older US population dies off the younger ones (under 30) will increasingly be more and more accepting to being lead around by the nose by government/corporations without a second thought about it…In fact they will cry out for it to happen so that by 2020 full fascism will be in control of US population

#5 – Obama wins President with a very sour but smiling Hillary as VP (if the clintons don’t steal it before then) – look for Obama to be assinated in 2009 by a white southern male…

#6 – econony will move in 2 directions the haves will hurt but continue to have (although on a little lesser scale) while the middle/poor will really feel the bad times by the middle of 2009 and continuing till 2012/2013

#7 – Or if we really lucky – We’ll all muddle along until 12-21-2012 and then the universe will implode and thats that…

And remember to sign up now for free weekly home delivery of your allotted amount of Soylent Green – the all natural food supplement – Don’t risk being caught by the blue, blue meanies during street scoop time, text message the word DELIVERY to 5246 and Happy Valley Funeral Home will do the rest……

The near term threat remains the economy. The financial system is falling apart and could literally have a systemic collapse at any time. Food and Energy prices will continue to increase and their effects will be blatently obvious. This front could get very ugly before the election – particularly during the period from the end of the Olympic games and the political conventions to the election.

Obama will get the Democratic election but will be decisively beaten by McCain with no need for voting irregularities. McCain is perfectly positioned to win and exploit the rapidly declining geopolitical situation in the Middle East. I would expect some flareup there before the election. This could include 9/11 v2.0 or simply something more along the lines of an Iranian funded / supported equivalent of the Tet Offensive that triggers an air war with Iran.

My gut is that there is at least a 50% chance of war with Iran before the election. This would almost certainly be triggered by some unknown/unexpected event. There is some risk of a false flag attack but there is also risk of other very real threats by actors who don’t like the US.

Re the comments that false flag events are not necessary, I would merely point out that flase flag events tend to be contrived to expedite aggressive American military initiatives, so the key consideration is how determined the US is to attack Iran and anyone else for that matter. It seems generally accepted that Iran can’t be hurt without using tactical nukes, which in turn means the US needs an Iranian-linked pretext of nuclear proportions to justify that and pre-emptive warfare ad infinitum.
