More Jail Time For Whistleblower

Reboot: What A Colossal Crock Of Shit – From June 20, 2013, but very relevant to what is happening today – Bradley Manning is imprisoned for exposing the war crimes of the Empire.

Relevant: Manning jailed again for refusing to testify.

NOT Relevant: Manning changes names and sexual identity. It’s none of your damned business why. We should all be free to choose the life we want to live.

Listen to John Pilger’s broadcast on the Julian Assange / Chelsea Manning – the real reason why Manning is back in jail. Pilger doesn’t get much US media coverage, but you can also find out more here:

The Destruction of Freedom: Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange And The Corporate Media

To my knowledge, nobody was punished for the war crimes uncovered (except Manning for daring to defy the Empire) or the civilians slaughtered, to this day – and never will be. The pardon issued by President Obama to Manning came just two days before leaving office after spending years languishing in prison, but now Manning is back in jail.

Not many people care. There hasn’t been much coverage of this in the American media because our media almost always supports the crimes of Empire. Manning is old news, and the media has taken a piss on Assange and Wikileaks since its earlier love affair. Different President(s) now, different times, but the message stays the same and that’s what counts.

Almost nobody will stand up to the Empire. It takes a LOT of courage to say “No” and put your life on the line. There’s nothing to be gained from going to jail again. It would be very easy to just cooperate and rehash what they already know (and what they’re trying to manufacture). Manning isn’t having any of it. She’s got bigger balls then 99.99% of everyone else, no matter what identity she chooses to be.

Speaking the truth has truly become a revolutionary act.

Definitely timely and related to the gigantic scam that was the Iraq war: 16 Years After Iraq, the US Has Become a Nation of Passive Neocons (read for the full article)

WASHINGTON (Opinion) — Sixteen years have passed and the memory of the Iraq War is distant for many, save for the millions of people — Iraqi and American alike — who saw their lives destroyed by one of the greatest lies ever sold to the American public.

Yet, while plenty of Americans sleep easy thinking that such an atrocity as the invasion and occupation of Iraq could never happen again, the U.S. government has continuously been involved in many smaller, equally disastrous wars — both seen and unseen — largely thanks to the fact that those who brought us the Iraq War remain both respected and still present in the halls of power.

Indeed, the only thing the domestic outrage over the Iraq War seemed to accomplish has been a massive effort waged by the government and the corporate elite to engineer a public that doesn’t complain and doesn’t care when their government meddles or invades another country.

For many Americans today, much like the war itself, the outrage over the Iraq War is a distant memory and comparable outrage has failed to emerge over any other U.S. government crime committed or contemplated on a similar scale — whether it be the “regime change” invasion of Libya, the ongoing genocide in Yemen, or in response to crimes the government is now setting up.

Our forgetfulness has informed our silence and our silence is our complicity in the crimes — past and present — orchestrated by the neocons, who never left government after Iraq but instead rebranded themselves and helped to culturally engineer our passivity. As a consequence, we have again been hoodwinked by the neocons, who have transformed America in their image, creating a nation of neocon enablers, a nation of passive neocons.

Snowden, Manning and Assange are heros. Without their courage we could never have guessed how many lies we have been told. The media (even the liberal “fake” news) portray them as traitors rather than showing that the people running the government are the immoral rogue liers. They have sacrificed much and are not appreciated for it.

Yep, agree 100%. I also reject the media lies about these heroes. Thanks for posting on this one – it’s one of those “taboo” topics in America these daze.
