If The Truth Be Told

Les Visible has written a fine rant titled, One Last Diatribe Before We Get Specific.

You know, telling the truth has never been popular, but it’s getting decidedly more unpopular by the minute. Telling the world that a shitstorm is coming and taking everyone and everything with it just doesn’t fly. But you can certainly spread lies and fables and falsehoods and make a million (or billions) doing it. Unfortunately, this is where the interest lies.

Don’t tell the people that their government literally manufactured phony money out of thin air to bail out the big corporate giants and thereby grossly inflating the money supply. Tell ’em all instead that they have ‘been saved’ (for a week or two) and that now is a great time to invest in the markets, a killing can be made! Don’t tell them whose blood it is on the walls!

If the truth be told, we’d attack every falsehood and every lie that placed us here, placing the blame and the responsibility squarely where it belongs, including on ourselves. Running away from it will never, ever make it go away. Tolerating it or just ignoring only permits these deceptions to continue to flourish like the malevolent leeches that they are.

Nobody said life was going to be easy, so wherever people garnered the idea that they don’t need to do anything to make this world a better place, or that it wasn’t going to cost them something, they were lied to. Funny how they believe that it’s always someone else’s responsibility to take care of things, but never theirs. Avoidance has become their shield of salvation, which is yet another lie. Doesn’t make a lick of sense.

The startling thing about if the truth to be told is this — would anyone believe the truth even if they heard it? Isn’t that where we are at today? We’re living in such a fantasy world of our own devices and illusions that the truth is often simply rejected as being the lie. Our connection to reality is nebulous, a consensus trance on a massive scale.

Words will always retain their power. Words are the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country. V For Vendetta

Millions of people will “act upon lies if there is something in it for them“. Which they do, every day. It is a shared, collective cooperative guilt, but most often ignored.  The ‘price we pay’ in other words for our daily survival (dependency) on what we know is going to kill us.  A sad, sad state of affairs in reality.

“A lie would make no sense, unless the truth were felt to be dangerous.” –Carl G. Jung

The “fund” for the FDIC is a fiction. There has been no “fund” since Johnson was president. All the money the banks pay for “insurance” goes to the general fund. I just found this out a day or two ago. When the FDIC pays for a broken bank, it borrows the money. Everything is a gigantic lie. How many layers of this onion are there? It seems that they go on forever. Everything is going to splatter like those people falling from the WTC towers, leading to death and nothingness.

” … religious leaders wouldnâ’t know God if he groped them personally in an adult theater and brought them to an orgasm that shot them past Shambhala and beyond.”

Same as for truth (fact). A convenient lie (usually a ‘wish’ aka prejudice wrapped in a willful delusion) trumps cold hard reality every time – until the last time that is.

Just came across the following at http://www.truthout.org/article/we-pay-price-decades-relentless-dam-building

Suspecting most readers here will know which verbiage I’d put in bold underline if I could –

“The late Carl Sagan was among precious few visionary humans who shared the extraordinary ability to differentiate between deep thought and deep nonsense and recognized the persistence of a satisfying delusion to perpetuate the latter. Dr. Sagan wrote, “We go about our daily lives understanding almost nothing of the world. We give little thought to the machinery that generates the sunlight that makes life possible, to the gravity that glues us to an earth that otherwise sends us spinning off into space or to the atoms of which we are made and on whose stability we fundamentally depend.””
