Human diet causing ‘catastrophic’ damage to planet

Climate change is a human problem. We are the cause (now). We are also the cause of ecological Armageddon. We don’t want to admit to any of it, but it’s all true.

Now, scientists are making it clear that the Human diet causing ‘catastrophic’ damage to planet. Check out the article and the dietary recommendations, I’m not going to repeat this here. I’m already eating this diet and have been for years. The food units I created are based upon healthy eating.

I’ve always thought that it was bloody obvious (pun intended) who was responsible for the catastrophic damage being inflicted upon the planet. Depredation and predation is what we’ve always done. We’re the world’s top killers, highly efficient at devouring and wiping out everything. And it doesn’t even take a high level of technology to do it. We’ve been doing it for thousands of years and now we’re scraping the bottom of the barrel, eating the most bizarre things while charging exorbitant prices and calling it “food”.

Donald Trump’s recent “luncheon” featuring a cornucopia of fast-food death-by-diet offerings, demonstrates just how out of touch our politicians really are when it comes to diet, health, planetary destruction and ecocide. Trump is not only out of touch with reality, he’s clueless about what is happening with human diets and how this is destroying the world.

Worse, he doesn’t even care. No amount of science, facts, reporting or statements from experts will change his mind – or for that matter, hardly anybody else’s either. We’ve become totally indifferent to how fast we are depleting the planet, and as I recently said, we will eat anything, even if it kills us.

It’s the highly developed countries like the United States, Canada, England, Germany and all the others that are eating the planet into ecological disaster. We’re the responsible ones. And we still don’t want to admit to it. Our politicians are doing nothing about it, and the corporations that really govern the world are loathe to change it.

Why? Profits remain the primary reason, it’s more profitable to sell deadly food to the world’s wealthy, then it is to get them to switch their diets. It funds more then rainforest destruction, it creates lots of customers for the pharmaceutical and medical industries too. Keeping people sick, fat and unhealthy is more profitable then not.

There’s little concern for the ecological destruction being caused, or where this may all lead. But we already know what that answer is. It’s ecological Armageddon, to be swiftly followed by global collapse as food systems utterly fail. Along with rising temperatures, disappearing water supplies and missing ice, we’ve set ourselves up for the worst possible outcome. Meanwhile, our President is having another Big Mac.

If that’s just not nuts, I don’t know what is.
