Follow The Money

More news on climate change “funding” of skeptics.

“It’s pretty much the same eight or 10 people any time you see a skeptical point of view,” Mote said. “It’s pretty certain that it’s going to be one of those folks.”

Former Vice President Gore is saying the Bush Administration is trying to bribe their way through this morass. Well, why not? Only 13% of Republicans believe it. A examination of their “priorities” reveals that lack of critical thinking. So does this guy, who’s only thinking of himself.

Don’t expect anything from our lame-duck Congress. Polls are meaningless and are simply infotainment. Nothing changes.

While we keep robbing from our childrens inheritence, we keep arguing and disputing the factual evidence and refusing to do much about it. I’ve absolutely NO IDEA if humans can reduce global warming, but I’m absolutely CERTAIN we can make it a hell of a lot WORSE by doing nothing.

Business-as-usual is planetary suicide. Adaption, something the car makers and major industries simply refuse to consider, is part of evolution. If a new high-energy fuel source was found in plentiful abundance, do you think they’d adapt their products and plants to utilize it? Of course they would, because it would mean new resevoirs of vast profits. Follow the money – the allegience to anything for far too many people is avarice, the children be damned. Who gives a damn about the planet or some salamander? Not understanding these connections to life and our ability to live on this planet is what permits these kinds of excesses to continue.

Ignorance is now the standard of acceptance. Ignorance means you do not have to be held responsible for your actions. Ignorance enabled by the dumbing down of the population (globally) permits that “takers” to continue their rapacious greed and gluttony while pumping billions of tons of poisons into the atmosphere, the soil and the water. Ignorance and greed is what will ultimately destroy all life.

This is why I’ve come to disagree with the concept of space exploration. Expansion into space is being investigated because of the need for growth. Growth isn’t what we “need”. What we need is that other component space exploration is supposed to after – knowledge. Knowledge breeds responsibility, something the human race desperately needs.

How can we, in good conscience, continue to destroy an entire planet – right out from under our feet? Of course it makes no sense, but policy makers and industrialists claim otherwise. They claim it’s necessary. And they go further and claim it’s also forgivable.

The problem with common sense is it’s not common. It’s an oxymoron, not grasped by the so-called ‘leaders’ that govern this planet. Hit your wife and she will leave you. Lie to your constituents and they’ll remove you from office. Dump poisons into the ground and the plants will become toxic and die. Pump poisons into the atmosphere and everything will die. Practice unlimited growth and die choking in a cesspool of overpopulation and starvation.

These things are obvious to thinking people that have a nickel’s worth of common sense. But our lawmakers believe that “they know best” and must make every decision for us, even those that are against our best interests. It’s time for a little gene-pool cleansing. I shed no tears for idiots who can’t look both ways when crossing the street.

When you follow the money, you come to realize a stupendous array of possibilities exists (to make money). Everything has it’s price, including politicians and the public themselves. Anything can be bought, sold, traded or bartered. Even life itself. Humans have taken this concept of ownership and control to an infinite level. This is a very dangerous way to live, because ultimately, it’s not really living. It’s a commodity.

Our problem is we’ve lost our way, a long, long time ago. And now we’re in this incredible morass of greed and gluttony, found all over the planet. And there is seemingly no way out.  If you missed one of those links above, here it is again,  please read this, Global Warming And Hot Air.

It’s the pleasure principle. People will pursue their pleasures even with pain on their heels.
Most people wouldn’t admit, or for that matter even recognize that they’re “programmed” to think and be a certain way.
The great depression was very instrumental in leading us to the point where mankind now finds itself.

“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.”

admin: Not everyone has lost their way. While you are passionate about your beliefs and straight forward you appear to be in touch with truth.
Greed and gluttony are certainly predominate but if mankind doesn’t experience these things, and grow sick of them, how can they ever know that it’s undesirable?

Nice quote lonewolf: Here’s another one.

There are many truths of which the full meaning cannot be realized until personal experience has brought it home.
    John Stuart Mill
