Finally!! Some Common Sense!

This is the ‘unspeakable topic’ that everyone is afraid to talk about:

The new head of the Science Museum has an uncompromising view about how global warming should be dealt with: get rid of a few billion people. Chris Rapley, who takes up his post on September 1, is not afraid of offending. ‘I am not advocating genocide,’ said Rapley. ‘What I am saying is that if we invest in ways to reduce the birthrate – by improving contraception, education and healthcare – we will stop the world’s population reaching its current estimated limit of between eight and 10 billion. Science Chief: Cut Birth Rate To Save Earth

It’s plain as the nose on your face that population has long been a huge part of the problem. Our “non-negotiable way of life” can only be maintained (at a price) if the population is drastically reduced.

Readers of this blog will understand that I’m not advocating our way of life – but others are (vehemently). If that’s what they want, then they’ll need to realize that existing populations cannot possibly be maintained, let alone grow to 10 or 12 billion.

Modern living will never be sustainable, it’s an oxymoron. But modern living could be sustained (there’s a huge difference) if the population was reduced, restricted or somehow brought down to the levels where the resource demands were in closer balance to the level of consumption.

Ah yes, but even suggesting or talking about it in a rational way draws out the lunatic fringe element (You’re supporting kill-off/die-off! That’s what the elites want to do to us all!) or horrifies the unthinking masses (I have the gawd-given right to have 16 children that I can’t feed!).
It’s no use, humanity is doomed.
