Amazon Deforestation Soars

This is very sad: Deforestation Soars in the Amazon

I really hate being right about this sort of thing because the impacts are so stupendously bad.

The monthly rate of deforestation saw a big rise from 243 sq km (94 sq miles) in August to 948 sq km (366 sq miles) in December.

390%??? Puts a whole new definition on “eating our way down the food chain”. We’re effectively eating our forests too.

Hard to believe this is actually happening, but the proof is there.

And it is written: “Let us make man in our image” nice image!

Must have been thinking bubonic plague at the time instead of humans…
