And yet another study just released on global climate change and the impact on our health, economy, environment and future:
“We found that impacts of climate change are likely to lead to ramifications that overlap in several areas including our health, our economy and the natural systems on which we depend,” said Dr. Paul Epstein, the study’s lead author and Associate Director of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School. “A comparable event would be the aftermath of flooding, contamination and homelessness witnessed after Hurricane Katrina hit the US Gulf coast in August. Analysis of the potential ripple effects stemming from an unstable climate shows the need for more sustainable practices to safeguard and insure a healthy future.”
Well Dr. Epstein, I sure hope you can get ‘ol George to listen this time and the rest of his ilk. There must be a an ‘ungodly’ large mountain of these reports stacked around the White House someplace. Too bad that ‘ol George doesn’t hear from God on this.
At least somebody is listening:
“We should be treating, I think, the whole issue of climate change and global warming with a far greater degree of priority than I think is happening now,” he said in the interview on Radio 4’s Today programme.
He said moves should be taken to ensure “there was something left to hand on” to future generations.
It really makes you wonder what in the world is going on with some people. Either they can’t see the forest for the trees, or they already cut it down and there is no forest.
