Media Circus - Updated
238 ViewsSupposedly Dick Cheney’s phone number was found on the “DC Madamm” client list. Ho, hum, now we get to watch the media circus make lots of stupid noise about this.
If we can’t impeach this monster over lies, treason and crimes against humanity, do you think American’s really give a shit about the former CEO of Halliburton hiring prostitutes?
I’ve no doubt that a circus tent is being erected at this very moment, but the hypocrisy we’ve seen and are about to witness is worthing of a good puke.
And I WISH the mainstream media would stop shoving this crap down our throats: Homeland Security Chief Warns of Increased Risks
Dare I ask why? What are we doing now that we are doing differently, then say, two years ago? Don’t we have the Homeland Security thugs protecting us night and day? Or did they all get fired and go home for incompetence? Check out this “Oops list” of how close we’ve come to thermonuclear explosion by our own military.
Still, Chertoff said there are not enough indications of an imminent plot to raise the current threat levels nationwide. And he indicated that his remarks were based on “a gut feeling” formed by past seasonal patterns of terrorist attacks, recent al-Qaeda statements, and intelligence he did not disclose.
So now we are being warned because of a “gut feeling”. Hmm, just when Dick and George have the lowest public opinion scores in history. And when the Republican troopers are abandoning ship like dying rats. And the calls for impeachment of these scum is getting louder and louder. Anybody besides me remember these patterns from the past?
In recent days, ABC news reported that a secret law enforcement report prepared for homeland security warns that al-Qaeda is preparing a “spectacular” summer attack. On Tuesday, ABC News also reported that “new intelligence suggests a small al-Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.”
Chertoff sternly echoed those sentiments at the Tribune.
“We’ve seen a lot more public statements from Al Qaeda,” he said. “There are a lot of reasons to speculate about that but one reason that occurs to me is that they’re feeling more comfortable and raising expectations.
“We could easily be attacked,” Chertoff added. “The intent to attack us remains as strong as it was on Sept. 10, 2001.”
Except Al Qaeda didn’t attack us in 2001. Emphasis is mine, because I’m sick to death of these lies. These lying boneheads are telling us flat out - America is going to be attacked, we know it, we’re aware of it and we’re going to either a) let it happen; b) be the ones doing it. That’s a pattern I’m well aware of.
Alright then. Let’s get on with the show. Put up or shut up. I won’t even bother posting the increased police state crap Chertoff is promoting. Maybe “Al Qaeda” will locate one or more of those dozens and dozens of lost nuclear devices.
Apparently I’m not the only one who’s fed up. Reason Magazine say’s:
In this sense, the very people who are supposed to be protecting us from terrorists are playing right into the terrorists’ hands. Despite the absence of any specific information, and despite the fact that his saying as much would do little if anything to actually thwart a pending attack, Chertoff still feels he has to go public with his “gut feeling” that something awful might happen this summer. And so the newspapers and Drudge and the blogs run with it. And now we get to go about our summer business with the foreboding cloud of a possible terror attack looming on the horizon.
This is pretty consistent with how the government has behaved since 9/11: vague warnings, a lack of specific information, and lots of hassle. We now go through an expensive, invasive, tedious, basically useless ritual every time we get on an airplane because the government feels like if we’re hassled and frightened, we’ll at least feel safer. When Britain broke up a half-assed attempt at an attack using liquid explosives, the government decided to add a complicated sorta’-ban on carrying gels and liquids onto flights, too. Never mind that the broken-up attack wouldn’t have worked, or that it would be nearly impossible to bring down a plane with liquid explosives stored in a carry-on bag. And now, Chertoff casts a shadow over the summer based on rumbles in his gut. Losing the War On Terror
More on “gut feelings” here.
And finally, GOP Hoping For More Terrorist Attacks.
The Republican Party has sunk to a new low, they’re now hoping that terrorist attacks on American soil will give a boost to their sagging party. First in line hoping for these terrorist attacks is former Sen. Rick Santorum. Appearing on the Hugh Hewitt radio show, he suggested at a series of “unfortunate events” will unfold that will lead to a reversal of the anti-war sentiment now dominating the country.
I don’t KNOW that something is going to happen this summer, but we are sure seeing a lot of spin regarding this “prediction”. My “gut” isn’t telling me anything right now, except to go eat.
