An American Foreign Legion
222 ViewsA sure sign of an Empire, and a sure sign of the impending collapse. If a nation must resort to such practices, then that nation is in severe peril of self-determination because the heart and the soul of the nation has been lost.
I’ve yet to see any concrete evidence that the Empire has the political or moral will to save itself. Empire’s focus seems to be on continued expansion, at any cost, even when it’s failing. Failing to recognize natural sustainable limits will eventually determine any empire’s fate. Eventually.
The danger comes when it doesn’t happen soon enough. Hiriing mercenaries to wage it’s wars is one sign of the Empire’s desperation. This has actually already been happening, with citizenship being given to aliens who enlist.
Since September 11, 2001, there have been several policy changes complementary to both the current and pending legislation that may encourage more non-citizens to consider military service. For example, today’s service members are eligible for expedited citizenship, and the military services have worked with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to streamline the citizenship application process for service members. In fact, we find that many service members attain their citizenship while serving. President Bush’s executive order allowing non-citizens to apply for citizenship after only one day of active-duty military service is still in effect.
We’ve already got a foreign legion, so I suspect that this “new” development is to simply expand this to non-residents of Empire.
