Many of you have written publically and privately to the round of blog questions that I’ve recently asked. Your answers were informative and “common” to all. If you remember what you wrote, you’ll probably quickly understand what I mean.

Here’s what I learned in a summary format:

a) Everyone is basically working alone. Not a single family reported in that they were all on the same page with their thoughts, plans and efforts towards preparing for collapse. Most reported divisions in their efforts to inform spouses, family, kids, friends and neighbors, with what I judge as “mediocre” success at best.

This is as I personally suspected, because I have found out the same things. It’s nearly impossible to find someone even in your own household who embraces this information as seriously as you do.

This is creating a lot of tension, disagreement and hardship in these relationships. Most of you are limping along, doing the best you can while this “ball and chain” keeps holding you back. I mean no disrespect here, but a divided house cannot stand very long. Nor am I suggesting you do anything differently about it, I’m only pointing out that this is true for everyone.

b) The feeling of being alone, disconnected from the “other world” that people are living in and failure to communicate effectively are also being experienced by all of the respondents. This too is as suspected, meaning I find myself at odds with the other world everywhere I go.

We are all noticing the disconnect from this reality we perceive and the so-called reality perceived by everyone else. Being in a decidedly tiny minority, this excaberates our feelings of being alone. We’re not connecting with other people in meaningful ways (which means meaningful to us). It’s really a Twilight Zone “out there” as the disconnects to what is really happening just keeps right on going over everyone’s head.

Any news or information we share is usually looked at, but it doesn’t sink in or change anything at all. Life goes on as “normal” and our frustration and disbelief grows a bit worse. Some of us, myself included, are more or less throwing our hands up in the air and we’re basically saying “I give up trying to convince these dunderheads to save themselves“. We feel the time has come to save our own selves.

As already shared, this is even happening on the family / friend levels and is causing some tension. I’m receiving an increase in request to “secretly” handle shipments and orders from spouses, neighbors and friends. The level of trust is actually dropping as the level of our concern increases.

c) Despite any evidence we may be bringing to the table in our discussions with family and friends, deep entrenched denial rules the day. Nothing more needs to be said here.

d) Nobody has enough money to do what they believe needs to be done on a personal level. A tight balancing act is being waged trying to keep one foot in and one foot out of the system. It’s hard, tiring — actually downright exhausting, and wearing everyone down.

e) Age is a big concern. The age group of those who are aware, awake and prepping is the older generations, averaging between 40 - 60 (not everyone commented on this, but this is the clear trend).

f) The need to interact with others of like mind and concern is acute for most. The need is both real and perceived. Mitigating the feelings of aloneness, being crazy or just going out of your mind because nobody else “get’s it” is a driving factor for this. Many want or are already participating on forums elsewhere.

This blog is perceived as being essential across the board, offering a perspective and insight not found elsewhere. Everyone wants to see it stay up and operational.

g) Many feel that they are holding themselves back on their own preparation plans. This is a hard one to discern for me and share with you, because the reasons are so varied, but most feel that they could do much, much more. They are not because they are still caught in the present system, do not have enough money, have no help at all, do not have the moral support to encourage them to move ahead, find the entire process overwhelming and difficult to cope with far too often, and some believe that it’s actually futile to do much.

h) Most feel the need for timely, accurate and concise information would help them break their own deadlocks. A single source for this info would be greatly desirable.

i) The need for community, group and organization is also a tough one to describe. Most feel it is too late, too dangerous and too much work. Some expressed this need to have someone “with them” and are open to doing this.

j) Many have gathered the tools, books, experience and supplies they believe that they need that will help them. This was very common, with almost (but not quite) no one not doing anything in the way of physical preparations. Even so, nobody felt that they really had “enough”, since the need to have more supplies, tools and especially experience was seen as being a big concern.

k) Most felt that hard core survival skills were highly desirable skills to have. Most already have some skills in gardening, living rustic lives, basic animal husbandry and other such skills and experience. Most felt that this was not nearly enough.

i) Most feel that no matter what they do, they stand a very limited chance of survival considering what they believe is going to happen. All felt that preparations of varying levels were necessary, most feel that very serious preparation levels were best, but even so, this only offered them a limited chance of survival in the face of how bad it’s going to get.

The reasons for this limited chances of survival was primarily because everyone else, all the “others” were not doing ANYTHING towards their own future survival in the face of collapse. Most feel that the collapse will be quite severe and will create conditions of widespread chaos. Most fear hungry hordes, confiscation, difficulties with neighbors, family and friends and a police state. Most feel that they will not survive this “invasion” because they would be overwhelmed, quickly. Most felt hiding if possible would help them with this, but most also felt that this may not be enough.
l) Not many have found cooperation or support among their neighbors with one notable exception (from those that reported). Michael exemplifies the hard work and conscientious effort to “break ground” with neighbors and build relationships and a modicum of trust.

m) Many wanted to know where the “safe place” will be. All are concerned about population levels. Not all are willing or desiring to move. Some will dig in right where they are, others will depart and go to their chosen spots.

n) Most expressed concern that our nation won’t survive this intact and that the future would be radically different then the present. This was not a question that I’d asked, but quite a few either made comments or references to this.

o) Most are prepared for differing levels of self-defense. Nobody is looking forward to this either.

p) Most believe that they will enacting their preparation plans very soon. This varied a bit, from a few months to less then two years.

q) There was a wide variation on what plans and preparations meant to the respondents.

r) Almost, if not all, feel that there will not be a sudden awaking of the public to their actual plight until it is far too late for them to react with any efficacy at all. Many stated that it would take a huge, massive event to shock “the others” from their somnolent states.

s) Almost forgot — respondents came in from Canada, the USA and England — did I miss anyone? I anticipate more as this and the earlier posts gain some history.

There you have it, a very unscientific “results” of the questions I’d posed. I wasn’t taking a real survey and won’t bother to do so either. But as indicated, there are a LOT of commonalities here, in fact, almost everyone that wrote was on the same page on most of the issues, even issues / questions which I did not bring up on the original blog posts.

There were a few exceptions, such as not needing to prepare at all and staying in the city.

What does the answers above mean? Well, it means what I’ve suspected all along, nothing “new” was uncovered. In other words, the blog remains pretty accurate on how would-be crashstead survivors feel about our situation, our future, our neighbors and their chances. That’s good.

Now for the bad…. can you say toast?

No, it’s not that bad, just hoping to get your attention. The need to find others is very large and ever present as expressed by most, especially in their own family units. Many single people are really concerned about their aloneness, and I agree, I see this as being a huge factor in their chances.

The present magnetic force holding everyone back is the ubiquitous “system” that we are all a part of, and the need to be a part of it as long as possible. Almost everyone is still stuck with the iron filing in their shoes to what it offers, what it limits and what it controls. This isn’t any surprise either, but it does indicate our ongoing dependency, which nobody has resolved.

Again, no surprises there, our need for a new culture cannot be realized as long at this existing culture remains in control. We interface with this at multiple points on a daily basis, even if we are secluded up on our mountaintops. And this creates a dichotomy with our reality and the other reality we’re constantly bumping into.

I have absolutely no answers for this, this is a characteristic I have seen in every group I’ve ever seen. The group (if there is one) can take on its own reality and perceptions, but that changes nothing on the “outside world” and in fact, this creates a point of contention at the interface points. It makes no difference what the interface is — it can be a visit to the local store, the dentist or getting your car registered or a friend comes to visit, but the “rubbing of elbows” with the “unbelievers” creates several things: tension, disagreement, distrust and avoidance. Not always, but often enough.

Who is doing this? I think both groups are doing this, but I don’t know who’s doing this more. And I’m not sure it matters who’s doing it more anyway.

How we / they deal with it is probably more important. Most are dealing with it by staying quiet and keeping their information / opinions to themselves, and thereby blending in as best they can. Others “take the risk” and periodically attempt to present their opinions / arguments or information, almost always with dismal results.

What this means is we are as a group, pretty much failing to convince anyone, even our own family members of our viewpoints, which we further believe to be life-saving and theirs to be life-threatening. For us, it’s very serious, a matter of life or death, for them, it’s a point of amusement, or disbelief or downright anger. Their threatened way of life is the “question at hand” and they do not want to hear about anything that may challenge that perception. And they are quite willing (right now) to “go down with the ship”, adamant to the end that they will never need to.

We believe that they will hold to that that position until they are personally suffering, which we also believe will happen pretty soon as the dominoes of collapse fall faster and harder, eventually hitting them smack dab in the face and knocking them clear off their feet. We even believe that they will die in large numbers because of their intractable positions. They think we are basically nuts for having such views.

This basic disagreement underlies many of our interactions with “them” and they with us, once they actually understand how we feel. Our relationships are actually suffering quite badly in my opinion as a result.

This is all quite serious in truth, because it reveals just how far and how different our world views really are, and how this perception (real or not) is impacting our daily lives and how we experience and even enjoy life.

Wow, that was a mouthful, even for me. But I think this is pretty important. Our feelings of being alone are running pretty deep, exhibited by almost everyone and override a lot of our concerns. How we are able to interact with the “other world” and it’s vast majority of the population is as a result, being limited by our perceptions and theirs. Nothing is being done about this either, and is in fact, worsening as our perceptions become more real to us.

Strangely, even though the daily news is actually reporting some of the truth to our perceptions (a perception in itself), the distancing we’re feeling from our family and friends remains. This is probably true because we ourselves are still “running ahead”, still distancing ourselves as we race to make our own preparations and gather the skills and experience and supplies we need. They’re way, way behind us and not even half-trying to catch up.

The cognitive dissonance is actually worsening despite the news reports now found in the mainstream media. I’m not clear why this is so, possibly because the MSM is still failing to report the whole truth and is often caught lying in their broadcast, such as the theme that “things are going to get better” and that “this is a temporary setback” after reporting something fairly serious and threatening.

Our efforts to counteract this propaganda are truly failing. This is one reason why I’ve seriously questioned the direction and even the content of this blog. The “converted” are already here, already on board and the evidence I have presented remains disbelieved by the majority. The main stream media contacts that have recently come up (there have been three already in the last two weeks or so) have disappeared entirely after I pointed out a few things to them. I find this amazing myself, since I do not write the news nor create it, I’m pointing to sources of the news that should be believed by them because they are main stream sources themselves (not always, but often enough).

Most of us feel that there really is nothing we can do about this. So do I. The effort and energy and cost and time spent to wake them the hell up is exhausting, bankrupting and seemingly futile. So I’d like to point something out — if all of that is true.

Why should we persist with this line of direction? Why keep knocking ourselves out, jeopardizing our marriages, our relationships and even our jobs if they simply won’t hear / read / investigate or take any real interest in their own future?

We do this because we care — we care so much that we are willing to suffer the ridicule, the derision, the arguments, the blacklisting and the ostracization that this creates. They don’t see that — and they don’t care enough either (in my opinion) to even try to see that. They fall back on a very old theme and that is “the world will continue on as it always has”. They say this because they know nothing different.

All we can do — and all many of us actually are doing, is trying to “be there” when they fall, for fall they will, of that, we are absolutely certain. We are certain because we have digested enough information to believe that this is the reality we all face, including ourselves. And this is what is lacking in their arguments or disagreements with our position. They have investigate little or nothing at all. Therefore, one line of attack to correct this dissonance would be to somehow get them to read more.

Perhaps an impossible task and many have reported exactly that. But it’s what I’ve said — education is key. We’re trying to get them to fix themselves, they first have to want to and secondly, they have to have the information available to them to do so.

I don’t think this is news, but spelling it out might help someone here to understand that this is a very common dilemma we are all experiencing.

Ok, where was I? Other then our “continued persistence” with our own levels of awareness, knowledge and preparation, I can only suggest that solid information sources might help others understand our position and activities. This has always been true, but admittedly, we’ve all been very busy trying to take actions to help ourselves and worrying about the ones we care about.

I do not presume to say that we’re going to make any headway at all. There is a very valid argument that say’s, “No, we will not” and I am largely persuaded to this position myself. This is because the information is already out there, everywhere you look if they would just read.

I can’t (seemingly) get anybody to actually read my own food site, I get a ton of very basic questions that are clearly posted in multiple locations that are constantly inquired about. I’m 90% convinced Americans cannot read, do not understand what they do read and can only comprehend about 10% of that. I know that’s harsh, but have you ever worked with the public?

I also admit that I am now, largely as a result of this blog, the food site and the former forum, quite unwilling to beat my head against the proverbial brick wall and try to “fix this” comprehension / reading / awareness / knowledge / “lets get it together” problem. This is because I personally believe that Americans are in very serious trouble regarding several factors, such as:

a) situational awareness — they have no idea what is going on around them and have no interest in it either;

b) comprehension limitations — they are so brainwashed that anything out of the ordinary is completely lost to them;

c) cognitive dissonance — they are quite unable to perceive anything outside of their comfort zone and will continue to vehemently deny their own suffering as long as possible;

d) they actually prefer their own bias, ignorance and laziness, it’s preferable to them because it does not require of them any personal responsibility or accountability;

e) they like their dependency and expect others to take care of them;

f) they find the “need” to be self-reliant, self-responsible or even autonomous to be quite foreign and even distasteful to them, as this represents work, comprehension, understanding, awareness, education, intelligence and probably a good deal of sweat.

Don’t bother telling me that this is a strong indictment, believe me, I held back. I will not put together a forum again for this reason because they turn into “chat-fests” and disagreements all too quickly and very few do all the work. It is my opinion that when most ask for such resources, they themselves will not be contributing. I believe this is true because they are not contributing now.

I ask a lot of people — but in reality, nothing that isn’t common sense. I expect you to be able to read, comprehend and investigate — and take personal responsibility for yourself and your life. If there is something you want — what are you doing about it? This is common sense and a very reasonable expectation. Unfortunately, I believe it is also widely disregarded, exhibited by the actions I see and even the belief systems I’ve witnessed and investigated.

It does not take leadership to exhibit these qualities. It simply takes responsibility, a trait not often taught or practiced. And no wonder, look at what our so-called “education” and daily indoctrination teaches us. The only people held responsible are the victims caught by the system. The politicians, corporations, government, lawyers, the famous, the cops and the rich are almost always not held responsible for the actions (and inactions) and we are actually taught to desire to become like them or even one of them. It’s an insane, upside down world we live in.

So, by long-winded explanation, I won’t be doing a forum or spending my days trying to educate the uneducated. I personally believe it is largely too late for that and apparently, quite a few of you do too for your own reason. Most of you are just quite tired of trying and perhaps have discovered the same things I did. Therefore, this blog will not take on this focus anymore then it already has. What is already here should be sufficient.

Finally on this topic, I also believe that there is a very strong collusion of government and media, deliberately and viciously misinforming the public at large on almost all things. This is also a common belief held by many of you and one of the reasons you even read this blog. Truth is very important, lies and misinformation aren’t.

We are alone — we will largely remain alone. I am not personally persuaded this will ever change. For me, I say “whatever”, I’m moving on already. I’ve got to, since I cannot fix this. I am not convinced you can either, and furthermore if I dare so say, I think those that try are spinning their wheels to their own peril. It’s a reason I don’t vote — it’s too late to think we can fix anything. You’ve heard this before.

Furthermore, it is my opinion that the points I’ve presented in the blog articles, and especially the collapse and future prep series are as accurate as ever. Why this is important is for the reasons I stated earlier, this blog will remain up (if possible) as a “history” of the coming collapse, why it happened, what we felt, what we thought we should do and why we were both alone and disbelieved by everyone else.

Perhaps this point isn’t particularly important, I do not know yet. But as the collapse deepens, there will be those who will “come looking” and perhaps find something here that will help them accelerate their own level of awareness and understanding and thereby, gain some value for themselves. It’s really the best I can hope for, and by the recent responses, what most of you hope for too.

We’re moving on it seems because we all feel like we must. Definitely I say, let’s move on, it’s time, even a bit past time I’d say. This is not an easy road, but change never really is. There is hope and it’s a very simple hope — we are doing the best we can given the situation we find ourselves in, each and everyone of us. We are not alone, there are more of us then it seems, and even though we are badly “outnumbered”, we’re moving ahead as lights in the sky appear with the coming darkness.

We all loathe the thoughts of what the future could really mean, we do not perceive our neighbors as our enemies, just ignorant and unconcerned about their own selves, too dependent and uninterested to change. We fear what this might mean when they come knocking on our doors. We hope they knock — and not just take. Our biggest fear is the unknown, which includes the hungry hordes and the government agents and informants and the police state. Shortages are actually secondary and rightly so.

We all seem to believe something else too — that there are no “set answers”, no canned responses and no pat solutions. Most of us have come to understand that the techno-fix solution is an absolute myth. I say good — because this only increase the dependency and resource destruction and is in fact, part of the problem that caused this collapse in the first place.

There you have it. I’m sure I missed plenty, but my fingers are tired and so am I.

The deafening sounds of collapse are all around right now. You can’t hear it however, unless you happening to be listening.

Another silence is coming — and some of you will notice this too. Blogs and news sources will begin to silence themselves, partly out of necessity and partly out of fear. Time will be needed for the owners of these sites to be working on their own plans and preparations. You can’t blame them for that.

Nobody send me any graphic images or large files either. Dial up here is only 21k, it’s very bad. Just send a link with the title, please. I will look at it.

To customers with questions: please limit your questions to specifics. I’m receiving over 200 email messages a day. Vague questions are nearly impossible to discern and I no longer have the time for it. The website contains a ton of information to help you figure things out — please read it.

Many of you have sent me links, I haven’t had any time to put these up, not even right now. I’m sorry, but I told everyone this would happen. Panic is setting in since the mainstream news has finally started telling people how bad it really is. This means we are getting overwhelmed and will soon be too busy to take care of other nice things like this blog.

Our lack of ‘community’ is everywhere. Sites like this will go stagnant as the collapse deepens.

Update: I’ve updated our shipping times page twice in one day (today). As the canneries report in, I’ve had do this. Expect these shipping estimates to change daily now.

If you cannot be patient for your order, please do not order. There is absolutely NOTHING I can do about these delays. I am just as much a victim of these conditions as you are. Readers of this blog were repeatedly warned that this would occur.

I can safely say that a tipping point has now been passed, and this time it’s food. We are all being overwhelmed with orders. Ship times will just get longer and longer, since there is only so many canneries and they can only go so fast and supplies are limited. During Y2K, we hit 10 month wait times, personally I think this will be very dangerous to be forced to wait that long. The stack of orders received at (just) one cannery was over 20 FEET tall and it took nearly 1 1/2 years to get through.

The main stream media has finally broken their long-standing complicit silence about how serious things have become. I caught a little bit of news on the one television station we get here last night. What pisses me off is how they all “triggered” this exposure at the same time, when it’s been going on for a long, long time.

It’s pretty clear they are getting their marching orders from on high and now, this “news” which is really old news, will start a panic. I think we can already see the beginnings of this right now.

I think these people are smokin’ crack or something. A quick check of the Sludgereport shows “Prince Harry Fights On The Frontlines In Afghanistan” as if this is even the slightest bit meaningful. Now this is:  Panic Buying Of Wheat and 1 in 100 Americans Behind Bars.  Few people realize that the wheat market is limited to .60 per day price increase.  Imagine what it would be if there were no daily limits.

Maybe the sound of silence will be your depopulated neighborhood as they cart everyone away. I don’t think this article is entirely accurate though, there were over 2.1 million people in jail last time I checked.

Thank you everyone that has contributed to the last post and the emails I’ve received. I’m going to put up a summary of what I’ve learned as soon as I can.

I am still having internet difficulties, and many other gremlins coming home to roost at the same time. Something every Canadian should know: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency defies common sense, and I will no longer be shipping any products into Canada. Now I know why others have stopped their efforts too - the FIA can’t read nor understand their own rules or exemptions. I have one word for them — morons.

I am very often asked for a source in Canada to buy storable food from. I know of nothing and nobody has reported back to me anything other then stores that sell food pouches, which are really inadequate for long term storage. I can’t solve the Canadian debacle. Drive down to the US and get what you need, I’m serious. We can ship to a US border town, but I’ll will not ship any meat products to Canadians anymore. (more…)

There is already enough carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere to initiate ice sheet disintegration in West Antarctica and Greenland and to ensure that sea levels will rise meters in coming decades. I rarely wander off into the right-wing mindfield of paranoia and delusion anymore, because I am so often disappointed in what I find. Wrong-headed thinking and outright lies and fabrications are the booby traps lying in every other sentence for the unaware or uninformed.

Silly me, I did it again. First found on Blacklisted News, but the source is here on Intel Strike, a site I’ve never seen. The article, titled “Creating A One World Consciousness: Mankind at the Turning Point Part 2“, sounded interesting.

Yet what I found was disturbing in its denial, lack of understanding and insinuation. Unfortunately, I was not able to comment in the commentary section, either it doesn’t work or it’s not allowed.

The author’s emphasis on various sections is a bit strange to me. The issue is mankind’s survival, for exactly the reasons he denies, such as climate change. I am unable to comment on the Mankind at the Turning Point: The Second Report of the Club of Rome, quoted in the article, having never read it, so will limit my comments to the article linked above.

The focus of Mankind at the Turning Point is a computer model that supposedly replicates the major features of the world problematique. According to The Club of Rome, the world problematique is the set of interlocking world problems, such as, over population, food shortages, non-renewable resource depletion, environmental degradation, etc. Not surprisingly, their self serving model, based on exponential inputs, predicts the complete unravelling of society and perhaps the biosphere. Naturally, failure to implement The Club of Rome’s solution of a totalitarian world government will result in the potential end of humanity.

All true — including the world problems of overpopulation, food shortages and resource depletion. So what’s the problem? The Club of Rome? (not known for being truly interested in the real benefit of mankind). I’ve no defense for this group, I know enough about them to definitely not take that path.

According to the articles bolded emphasis by the author, there is a big problem, apparently. He apparently disagrees with the “need” to adjust the value system of humanity. I’d like to ask “Why not?“. Humanity is headed over a cliff, our future survival is at stake if we do not change, and it is our value system at fault. But the author apparently disagrees, deeming any adjustments as being dangerous for humankind.

This bizarre conclusion becomes even more bizarre the further you read as the author flat-out denies global warming as “propaganda” and “myth“. He goes further, and decries “the necessity of a change in the man-nature relationship” as being something that is bad.

It is this type of wrong-headed thinking that characterizes so much of the “news” today that disgusts me. Humankind cannot continue on it’s present path without necessary adjustments in our relationships to each other, nature and our institutions. It is imperative that we change — but how we change remains a subject of much debate.

There is a lot of high-level think tank projections out there that depict the need to reduce the world population and create stable governments and control resources. Unfortunately, it’s all true, despite the Machiavellian intentions they (sometimes) express. It’s being driven by both greed (control and ownership), resource depletion and climate change.

For example, the NWO agenda has been widely reported to reduce populations to sustainable levels. Yeah, ok, I’m for that, it’s going to happen anyway since unsustainable populations levels will crash on their own. Another NWO agenda item is to control the resources. Now I’ve got a problem, because the issue of control always leads to totalitarianism and an imbalance of justice. More for them and less for me and you kind of thing.

Underlying this is the human nature equation, which the author above fails to recognize. We need to change our relationships towards life, living, wealth, “stuff”, control, ownership, government, nature and the institutions that support all of this imbalance and exploitation. We definitely don’t need a capitalist future because that will only lead to where we’ve already been, leading to the same end results we have today.

This is another reason why the “marketplace” will never fix our basic human faults, because it is an economic model driven by greed, not need. The current emphasis in the Green Movement for example, will be to continue to exploit the natural world for profits, while pretending we’re “helping” the environment by continuing the cycle of exploitation.

We do need a new ethic and a new consciousness, one that respects the planet we live on and all life forms that it still contains. Many, many people believe this is a liberal bias, which is quite ridiculous. It’s common sense and one that needs worldwide exposure. What I’ve found is more “non-liberals” believe that we can just go right on doing what we’ve always done, stupidly failing to even acknowledge the terrible damage that has led us to the place we are today. They can’t see it, they don’t want to hear about it and will vehemently deny that it even exists, because it refutes their world-view.

Many of these non-liberals are waiting for a magical rescue from the sky-god, which is patently absurd. I spent 20 years researching this issue in great detail and depth and I can most assuredly guarantee, it will never happen unless aliens land here first looking for survivors. The right-wing is unfortunately, populated with many that believe such nonsense and many other myths.

Mythology and superstitions govern almost all our planet still today, and are largely the cause behind most of the failures we’re experiencing. It’s not just religion I’m picking on here, but other myths too such as “infinite resources” and “human ownership”. Only the brain-dead can’t see it that way, they truly believe that they are “chosen” to be the world’s polluters and destroyers and abusers of men, planet and animals. It’s disgusting.

There is a real need for a new consciousness based upon reality today, which is needed throughout the entire world. Call it a new “one world consciousness” if you like. We all need to be aware of our past, our failures, our history and our future. This planet is our home, our planet, our one world, which is all we have. If we all treated our houses like we do this planet-home, we’d all be living in toxic waste dumps and sleeping on garbage piles.

Not to leave the left-wing crowd out, because this group also has it’s own mythology and superstitions. I’m often sent material for “my education” from both groups, almost always stuff I’ve seen before and discarded because it’s not based on reality or a grounding in this present-world. Psuedo-science and superstition are simply control mechanisms to make you fearful and afraid, or worse, pretend to offer you false hope where there really is none.

I’ve long believed that key is education, such as with the right wing’s “Moslem problem” (which in reality, they’ve made their problem). But not with the Judeo-Christian “answer”, which would simply replace one myth for another, but in the real world that lies outside of everyone’s door. We don’t need to bomb these people into oblivion because they are dark-skinned or of a different “faith”, we need to offer them an education. Better yet, let them educate themselves, since it’s both their right and choice.

And we need to do the same thing here in America. The religious fundamentalists, the climate change deniers, the capitalists, the whacked out right and left wing extremists, what they all lack is knowledge, perspective and a healthy dose of reality. Having your feet planted on real ground is far more important them many seem to realize. Those that do not are tossed about like winds, subject to every disturbance.

I’d pretty much dislike a world where everybody was the same, that isn’t my personal goal here. But I just as much dislike a world that is run by superstition, mythology, false beliefs and fear, and I’m finding this in large quantities on both sides of the aisle.

It’s disheartening to realize that after all of our “development” and education and science and awareness of the real world that lies all around us, we are still less then fearful animals. Most animals are not afraid in their environment, but have adjusted to its dangers and its extremes and opportunities, and act accordingly. If animals behaved like humans do, they would either be forever holed up in the ground someplace, or blowing shit up.

We’ve still never achieved reality status. Illusions and delusions rule our world through and through. We call “freedom” “fascism” and enjoy the crap they call “food” while it spreads it’s toxins and poisons into our bodies. The “good life” is to be a planet-raping moron with box-office tickets. We wouldn’t recognize the good life if it hit us upside the head with a snowball.

Unfortunately, humans are a plague-like species, governed by greed and delusions of mythology and self-deluding grandeur. Despite this apparent fact, I still believe we can do better. Our past history has been earmarked by the same things we experience today, with the notable absence of our planet-raping gluttonous behavior (in some society’s, Diamond’s “Guns, Germ and Steel” makes it pretty clear we’ve been wasting the planet and eating our way down the food chain for a very long time). We still had all of our other faults and superstitions, but we once lived at times where freedom, liberty, loyalty and trust truly existed and we only took what we needed, not everything we wanted. We wrongly believed we could “improve” on this situation — too bad we belatedly discover we were dead wrong.

One day, maybe, a new consciousness will emerge that discards the myths and superstitions of the past. I don’t know, it might happen, but I won’t live to see it and neither will you. For now, we’ll all have to deal with the lies and superstitions, myths and fabricated realities that earmark our world and are taking it straight to hell.

I think we all know that the Bush Administration has long been hiding the facts and science and the analysis that have come forward about climate change.

This report, from 2004 indicates just how far they’d would go to hide the truth from us. Please note: (especially to the newcomers here) — these are the same conclusions written and recorded on this blog for the past several years with updated date predictions. All bolded emphasis is mine simply to draw attention to pertinent parts.

Now The Pentagon Tells Bush: Climate Change Will Destroy Us — February 22, 2004

Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters..

A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a ‘Siberian’ climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents.

‘Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life,’ concludes the Pentagon analysis. ‘Once again, warfare would define human life.’

The findings will prove humiliating to the Bush administration, which has repeatedly denied that climate change even exists. Experts said that they will also make unsettling reading for a President who has insisted national defence is a priority.

The report was commissioned by influential Pentagon defence adviser Andrew Marshall, who has held considerable sway on US military thinking over the past three decades. He was the man behind a sweeping recent review aimed at transforming the American military under Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Climate change ’should be elevated beyond a scientific debate to a US national security concern’, say the authors, Peter Schwartz, CIA consultant and former head of planning at Royal Dutch/Shell Group, and Doug Randall of the California-based Global Business Network.

An imminent scenario of catastrophic climate change is ‘plausible and would challenge United States national security in ways that should be considered immediately‘, they conclude. As early as next year widespread flooding by a rise in sea levels will create major upheaval for millions.

Last week the Bush administration came under heavy fire from a large body of respected scientists who claimed that it cherry-picked science to suit its policy agenda and suppressed studies that it did not like. Jeremy Symons, a former whistleblower at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), said that suppression of the report for four months was a further example of the White House trying to bury the threat of climate change.

Senior climatologists, however, believe that their verdicts could prove the catalyst in forcing Bush to accept climate change as a real and happening phenomenon. They also hope it will convince the United States to sign up to global treaties to reduce the rate of climatic change.

A group of eminent UK scientists recently visited the White House to voice their fears over global warming, part of an intensifying drive to get the US to treat the issue seriously. Sources have told The Observer that American officials appeared extremely sensitive about the issue when faced with complaints that America’s public stance appeared increasingly out of touch.

One even alleged that the White House had written to complain about some of the comments attributed to Professor Sir David King, Tony Blair’s chief scientific adviser, after he branded the President’s position on the issue as indefensible.

Among those scientists present at the White House talks were Professor John Schellnhuber, former chief environmental adviser to the German government and head of the UK’s leading group of climate scientists at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. He said that the Pentagon’s internal fears should prove the ‘tipping point’ in persuading Bush to accept climatic change.

Sir John Houghton, former chief executive of the Meteorological Office - and the first senior figure to liken the threat of climate change to that of terrorism - said: ‘If the Pentagon is sending out that sort of message, then this is an important document indeed.’

Bob Watson, chief scientist for the World Bank and former chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, added that the Pentagon’s dire warnings could no longer be ignored.

‘Can Bush ignore the Pentagon? It’s going be hard to blow off this sort of document. Its hugely embarrassing. After all, Bush’s single highest priority is national defence. The Pentagon is no wacko, liberal group, generally speaking it is conservative. If climate change is a threat to national security and the economy, then he has to act. There are two groups the Bush Administration tend to listen to, the oil lobby and the Pentagon,’ added Watson.

‘You’ve got a President who says global warming is a hoax, and across the Potomac river you’ve got a Pentagon preparing for climate wars. It’s pretty scary when Bush starts to ignore his own government on this issue,’ said Rob Gueterbock of Greenpeace.

Already, according to Randall and Schwartz, the planet is carrying a higher population than it can sustain. By 2020 ‘catastrophic’ shortages of water and energy supply will become increasingly harder to overcome, plunging the planet into war. They warn that 8,200 years ago climatic conditions brought widespread crop failure, famine, disease and mass migration of populations that could soon be repeated.

Randall told The Observer that the potential ramifications of rapid climate change would create global chaos. ‘This is depressing stuff,’ he said. ‘It is a national security threat that is unique because there is no enemy to point your guns at and we have no control over the threat.’

Randall added that it was already possibly too late to prevent a disaster happening. ‘We don’t know exactly where we are in the process. It could start tomorrow and we would not know for another five years,’ he said.

‘The consequences for some nations of the climate change are unbelievable. It seems obvious that cutting the use of fossil fuels would be worthwhile.’

So dramatic are the report’s scenarios, Watson said, that they may prove vital in the US elections. Democratic frontrunner John Kerry is known to accept climate change as a real problem. Scientists disillusioned with Bush’s stance are threatening to make sure Kerry uses the Pentagon report in his campaign.

The fact that Marshall is behind its scathing findings will aid Kerry’s cause. Marshall, 82, is a Pentagon legend who heads a secretive think-tank dedicated to weighing risks to national security called the Office of Net Assessment. Dubbed ‘Yoda’ by Pentagon insiders who respect his vast experience, he is credited with being behind the Department of Defence’s push on ballistic-missile defence.

Symons, who left the EPA in protest at political interference, said that the suppression of the report was a further instance of the White House trying to bury evidence of climate change. ‘It is yet another example of why this government should stop burying its head in the sand on this issue.’

Symons said the Bush administration’s close links to high-powered energy and oil companies was vital in understanding why climate change was received sceptically in the Oval Office. ‘This administration is ignoring the evidence in order to placate a handful of large energy and oil companies,’ he added.

My only disagreement with this 2004 report is that it is off on its date predictions and the 2004 (s)Election was of course already in the bag. 2020 is much too far into the future to make such claims, these events are already happening now in 2008 and will be in full force by 2012, if not sooner. Global tipping points are now history.

Please note: the Pentagon is well aware of the the reality of climate change and is preparing for global resource wars. The meaning of this should not be lost on any ‘observer’ or would-be survivor of the collapse.

I’m still here… hacking and coughing my way through the day. My recent warning about closing up sparked some interest and concern. Let me clarify this point I raised a bit more and see if it helps:

We all depend upon suppliers to keep us running, I’m no different, except nobody needs me. What I offer is a service, but it’s not a replacement or even an essential service.

Eventually, we’re all going to need to learn to grow our own food, my service is to provide food for when you can’t (and should) or it’s simply too late to try, or too dangerous, or just too far until the next harvest and on and on. There are a lot of good reasons to store food. Food storage is really a necessity. Right now, somebody else has actually been doing this for you your entire life. Those days are fast going away.

It is the existing food supply chain, from tractor manufacturers to farmers fields, to grain silos and warehouses and distribution centers from coast to coast, worldwide actually, to the grocery store shelves that are at the present time, keeping billions and billions of people alive (and the hundreds of thousands of semi-trucks). I’m one of the little guys out there who’s a part of all that, with a more unique value of having long-term storable food that can last several decades.

The stuff I have is for when you can’t get food anymore, because of it’s lack of availability, increased cost, or increased shipping. For some, including myself, it’s food I eat everyday. I save a bundle over the supermarket and eat a lot healthier too when I avoid them.

I believe food storage is incredibly essential and even more so now since this supply chain is now seriously threatened. I’ll be “here” doing this as long as I safely can, but after that, no, of course not. And I do not know know when that date of departure will be, nobody does. Our world keeps spiraling down, in time enough dominoes will fall where companies like mine will be put out of business or even outlawed. At least, that’s my best guess. And from the news I’m reading (remember, I don’t make the news), it’s a pretty accurate guess.

Famines May Occur Without Record Crops This Year, Potash Says

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) — Grain farmers will need to harvest record crops every year to meet increasing global food demand and avoid famine, Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. Chief Executive Officer William Doyle said.

People and livestock are consuming more grain than ever, draining world inventories and increasing the likelihood of shortages, Doyle said yesterday in an interview on Bloomberg Television. Global grain stockpiles fell to about 53 days of supply last year, the lowest level since record-keeping began in 1960, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“If you had any major upset where you didn’t have a crop in a major growing agricultural region this year, I believe you’d see famine,'’ Doyle, 57, said in New York.

“We keep going to the cupboard without replacing and so there is enormous pressure on agriculture to have a record crop every year,” Doyle said. “We need to have a record crop in 2008 just to stay even with this very low inventory situation.”

I’m a serious as a heart attack about the collapse of civilization and why it’s happening. My own warnings about this fact are being broadly ignored (not here) by the “uninformed” (clueless?) masses despite the actual news sources I quote from.

If the above happens, the other domino to fall will be me and all the people that make me possible. And I won’t be alone, we’ll all “disappear”, lost in the background noise of collapse and personal survival. Scramble mode will be on, in full-force as we all depart our current way of life and go do something else (stay alive). In other words, those that are planning on food storage had better get their asses in gear. Plain enough?

It’s my best guess that we’ll all be here through 2008, but I really don’t know. I am as much at the mercy of the markets, climate and economy as anyone else (and the fascist Empire). When it all goes south, so do I. And I’m planning on that, actually. Always have. A multi-layer approach to life and living is always a good idea when things don’t go as hoped, especially when you know things are going to change quite dramatically in a very short span of time.

My confession as it were, was honest, and should be taken as another “dot” for everyone. Your job is on the line and your way of life too. How many of us have admitted to the pending reality of this fact? Unfortunately, absolutely nothing of any significance is being done about it, we’re all being left to figure this part out on our own.

It’s truly staggering in its implications when you think about. All the hopes, dreams, plans and efforts of millions upon millions of people, who are all living their lives without the realization it’s almost over…. If this doesn’t make you shudder, then I don’t suppose nothing will.

A long time ago, several decades in fact, I more or less “took a stand” against the status-quo, and the lies that were being spouted back then. My point being, I’ve been doing this a long time and it’s cost me far more then anyone here has ever realized. You don’t stand on the edge of the abyss without getting burned from the hell-fires below. Our world has been built upon illusions and dreams, almost none which are based upon reality. I do not know of any writer, author, speaker or outspoken person who has taken a stand against any of this that has not been burned. It comes with the “job”, but only because our world and it’s inhabitants is so out of whack with reality, truth, honesty and integrity that anyone who displays these characteristics immediately becomes a target.

I have always believed that a life worth living was a life worth living right. And by right, I mean truth and honesty and calling out the liars and the lies when you see them. This is most often perceived as a soapbox, and it is, but that doesn’t make it wrong either, it just makes it annoying at best, and dangerous at worst to those who don’t like what you’ve got to say.

Our world has been bamboozled into believing that we are individually voiceless, powerless and ineffective. Much of this is in fact true, but it’s only true because of our acceptance, which has led to our defeat. You are defeated when you’ve given up, but while you’re still alive, you can still hold to your principles and values. You might be beaten, but not defeated. I’ve been beaten, several times in fact, but never defeated. Inner strength and resolve is not dependent upon the external, all these things come from within.

We have all been beaten, browbeat into “acceptance” by the facts of their being “no choice” into being a part of this insane culture and society. Believe it or not, there is a breath of relief headed our way and it’s called collapse. While fascism and a black-boot police state is on a meteoric rise, we ourselves will also find something that we have long missed - resolve. When our backs are to the wall, some of us will finally grow the spines we’ve set aside and get on with the program of saving ourselves and dealing with what’s going on.

And it will not matter if we are defeated, because this is not the measure by which we live, and I think many will discover that, despite their apparent “defeat”. We have capabilities within us that remains yet to be discovered, of that, I am absolutely sure. And we’re going to need to discover these — if we intend to survive.

I have often pondered if my messages actually make sense to you. I am not the most articulate, well versed or skilled in crafting the words that I’m trying to convey. There is spirit and life in words, if done rightly, and that’s what I’m trying to do here often enough. When talking about collapse, it is in these things that we will need to find the strength to continue and they are spirit and life. We are facing the most terrifying time of mankind’s history, and we’re totally unprepared for this in reality.

It’s been said that this is “impossible to plan for” which is actually true, and because of this, we can only do what we can, when we can, while we can, but from within we are still going to need to find the resolve, the integrity, the truthfulness and the honesty to do the right thing, when, while and where we can.

Or we can become barbarians, arrogant, uncaring, unforgiving and insensitive to the suffering that will lie all around us. We are all known by the same measure we mete out and it will be no different in the future. The only difference will be when your measure causes the death of someone else — or even yourself.

I can only barely convey the difficulty the lies before us all. But we need to dwell long and hard on who we are and what we are as we ponder our future and our past. Are we chattel? Or just mere cattle? Do we stand for anything? Or nothing? By what value do we measure our own self-worth or lack thereof? Most importantly, what do we hope to gain in the future, in a collapsing world? Anything? Anything at all? What about truth? What about perspective? Will we walk in balance, or will we tip the world into a irrecoverable disarray and doom the entire human race?

Hard questions, hard choices, but all true. Questions we should be asking now.

Who are you? Are you the same person now that you will be then? Why not? Will you stand up then, but not now?

Impossible words — words that should not be asked, or should they?

You are known already… we all are. Not only by each other, your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, but even by the “other guys”, the ones who are making profiles and lists, and checking them twice… there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed… know this — and ACT accordingly.

I ponder many things, even words which I do not dare convey because they are so often and so easily misunderstood. Looking back over life, what do you see? And looking ahead, what do you find?

If there is to be any dignity in our lives, any meaning, or any purpose and any reason for our existence and our day to day struggle to simple live, it will be found from within ourselves, irregardless of what is going on in the external world.

I watched a very disturbing movie last night, titled “Rendition” and I thought of the barbaric nature that now characterizes much of this country. This is not us – this is NOT what we have become, not what I have become. It is what THEY have become or always were.

We are already beset on every side by evil men and woman cloaked in phony robes of righteousness and “public service” — we see warnings of this evil in the news every single day and it’s growing worse. There is a terrible sick darkness that is creeping over this country and it is not just “collapse”, it is a moral bankruptcy coming from a deluded religious rightwing extreme that claims a self-righteous superiority over life, over entire nations, over peoples and races, and over lands and everything that lies within them. I know it’s roots and from whence it came — and many of you do too. I’ve studied it for decades and it’s culminating just now.

Collapse signifies far, far more then just “survival” of the physical, but the moral, the spiritual and the sense of self and balance in the world, and it’s all coming under attack. Those that oppose this evil will be attacked, physically and spiritually. It’s already well underway, you can cut it like a knife. You’ll have to be as ready and as resolved as you can be to deal with this. I can only equip you with words, but it’s my hope that they will impart something of worth to your defense.

A terrifying ‘reaction’ is about to happen in America — do you know what I’m speaking of? A lot of dreams and false hopes are about to be shattered beyond all recognition… it’s not just the collapse, that’ll be a big part of it, but something far deeper in the American psyche and throughout the world. It will be the loss of faith, hope and future.

Religion will fail. Hope will fail. Future will fail. The dreams and ambitions of everyone will fail. In it’s place will be anger, desperation and rage. And despair — bucket loads and bucket loads of despair on every hand.

Imagine a giant slinky stretched taught, almost to its breaking point and then suddenly released. That describes the situation in the world today, about to be released with a resounding craaaaaackkkk. That crack will destroy everything in it’s path and everything that was built upon that stretched spring. It’s our civilization and our culture and our way of life and everything these terms represent. Gone.

It will be replaced with what I’ve long said — anger, reaction, wrath, control, fascism, police state, confiscation, nationalization, imprisonment. We’re already well on are way there now.

Dead along the way will be the institutions that have held us up (or held us back) to be replaced with new false gods. The god of Consumerism will be replaced with the god of Obedience. The god of Independence will be replaced with the god of Informants, Freedom with Fascism, and on and on. It’s happening right now, it’s in the daily news!

America is crafting a new religion, not many can see it yet, and it’s polluting the entire world. You – you are stuck in the belly of the beast. It’s not a very comfortable place to be, in fact, probably one of the worst places on Earth, but that is what it is. Most of us have decided to stay for one reason or another and it’s doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is how we choose to live. We are NOT them.

I wish I had words to unify and create the community and the cooperation that is so desperately needed, but I don’t. We have not suffered enough yet. We’ve got a long ways to go before that will happen and there will be many cast aside first in this brave new world of fascist folly and desperate acts of delusional madness. My ‘hope’ as it were, is that we brace ourselves as best we can, because it’s coming and there’s not a lot we can do about it.

This is creepy. Coupled with the massive bee die-offs that are occuring around the world, it makes you wonder if “they” are trying to cause a world-wide famine due to crop losses. Bats control a lot of the bugs that affect our harvests.

A significant loss of bats is chilling in itself to wildlife experts. But —like the mysterious mass die-offs around the country of bees that pollinate all sorts of vital fruits and vegetables — the bat deaths could have economic implications. Bats feed on insects that can damage dozens of crops, including wheat and apples.

“Without large populations of bats, there would certainly be an impact on agriculture,” said Barbara French of Bat Conservation International of Austin, Texas. Why Are Thousands of Bats Dying In New York?

If this spreads, a “real threat to humans” is very, very likely (we’ve got to eat for example).  This is the first I’ve heard of this problem, I don’t know if it’s found anywhere else yet or not.
