Defying Our Senses

Horrible tragedy at the Reno airshow, where a plane crashed into the grandstand: Reno air show crash

The drug war continues to escalating beyond your worst imagination, with graphic warnings to blogs and social media sites being left next to bodies.

The number of deaths is staggering, here is just a partial list of those killed in the last few days (translated into English).

More Mexican youths die from violence then car wrecks.  Some of these figures are out of date (too low). I’ve heard about figures as high as 50,000 dead (so far).

Another blog, Narco’s (translated) contains picture after picture of the unbelievable bloodbath taking place.

It’s clear, the cartel’s are winning, simply because of two reasons — a) They are able to spend whatever amounts of money it takes to enforce their policies and practices; b) they are willing to use extreme violence against anybody, anywhere.

This is the same as jihad — occurring now within the U.S. border states and throughout Mexico.

This is also collapse, as lawlessness, desperation and violence increases faster and faster.

I think we are becoming more “accustomed” to death.  Hollywood has glorified this for decades, softening up our morals and sensibilities.  In that same time frame, our government has declared death to millions more in real life, declaring this is “patriotic”.  Enemies abound everywhere as the entire nation goes into lock-down, afraid, fearful, vengeful.  We see death on the news every single day and we are no longer as shocked as we once were.

All of this is a very dangerous development. We’re now comfortable with a society that spies upon itself, invades our privacy or hauls away dissenters. The bloodbath taking place all around us is barely noticeable, unless you happen to be standing next to it.  Our senses are seared with images of bodies, pools of blood and blown up buildings.  The cries of the victims barely reach our ears.

This is happening all over the world now. I have read and absorbed countless reports of victims receiving no justice. Many of these stories never even make it to the main stream media, which has turned its attention away from the violence to focus on the inane and “stupid” news oriented to 12 year old mentalities.  This too is a very dangerous development.

We are receiving little to no support from what is critical to our survival — accurate, factual information about how society is disintegrating around us.  We’re constantly being reminded to focus on really stupid shit, spoon fed to really stupid people.

I watched a few videos of the latest candidate speeches and what Americans thought.  Frankly, I am absolutely totally disgusted.  This is just more evidence imo that we know little about what is really going on and care even less. We are unbelievably self-centered, intently focused on our own gratification, utterly ignorant and ignoring the sheer level of brutality and suffering going on all around us.

And we wonder why it is all falling apart.

I “sense” despair, hopelessness, desperation, withdrawal, denial and a simmering violence building in this country. I’m picking this up from news reports, comments and all the things the media isn’t telling us like it should. Read between the lines as you watch or read the news.  Censorship in this country is getting significantly worse.

These things will only help our collapse.  When we quit trying or caring or listening, we are only going to make things worse.  Or when we focus on Palin’s boobs instead of all the bombs we keep dropping. Or divert our extremely short attention spans to the latest lies our (s)Election candidates are still spewing.  Why don’t we wake the hell up and realize that it’s always more the same, but getting worse?  This is so bloody obvious.

What really bothers me is that we are so selective, applying double-standards and duplicity to everything. We actually prefer our blindness and ignorance, even reveling in our insane behavior while waddle our way to oblivion. God, this is so utterly sickening.

I honestly doubt that anything will now wake us up. We are much too far gone now. Our sense of entitlement, privilege, immunity, “rights”, arrogance, insensitivity and willful blindness have warped us nearly beyond recognition.  Our humanity has been discarded for deep fried butter sticks.

I find myself withdrawing more and more, keeping to myself, writing less, commenting less, even reading less. I know that this isn’t healthy, but I’m not alone in this response. The world around me is now physically assaulting my sensibilities, even threatening my own safety and sanity.  Saving myself and that of my family is more important then ever.  But all thoughts of community, cooperation, progress towards a “better world” are being left aside as self-preservation of mind and sanity becomes a daily concern.

I cannot read the news or listen to the radio or even passively interact anymore without feeling absolute disgust for what is going on, what is being accepted.  Some highly paid expert would say that I’m socially unfit, but I’d counter that erroneous judgement with the point that society is now unfit. I’m the same as ever, but the world that I live it surely isn’t.

Blogging is pretty much my only outlet anymore, but even this is getting dangerous. The cartels are threatening anyone that would dare expose even what is going on, and our own stupid government is doing the same thing.  It’s pretty clear what they’re they’re both trying to accomplish – total conformity and acceptance.

But it’s even worse then that.  Ever try to post a dissenting opinion on a blog, forum or news site? It’s dogpile on the critical thinker by untold thousands of absolute morons and fools. Straw arguments, ad hominen attacks and vile spewing of sheer idiocy rule the day.  It is the people themselves who are now vehemently arguing in favor of their own stupidity and slavery.  They’re not bright enough or informed enough to have yet figured out that they’ve been played for fools.

This country is now in the hands of idiots, fools and morons, who’s only concern is gaining more for themselves at any cost.  If you haven’t realized this yet, you should. The intelligent people have been shouted down, beaten down and voted out, to be replaced with absolute insanity.

A few smart words from George Carlin:

“The real owners are the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians, they’re an irrelevancy. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the statehouses, the city halls. They’ve got the judges in their back pockets. And they own all the big media companies, so that they control just about all of the news and information you hear. They’ve got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want; they want more for themselves and less for everybody else.”

“But I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago.

“You know what they want? Obedient workers people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork but just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it. And, now, they’re coming for your Social Security. They want your fucking retirement money. They want it back, so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all, sooner or later, because they own this fucking place. It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club.”

Why Are Some Americans So Shockingly Cruel? – from Veterans Today

Because they’ve been taught to be this way, and because they believe that this is “right” when it is so utterly wrong.
