More evidence the oceans are dying: Acid waters, dissolving shellfish
Even if all carbon dioxide emissions from human sources cease, experts believe it will take hundreds of thousands of years for ocean pH to return to normal levels.

You have made some of the most powerful posts i’ve ever read recently, and i feel your frustration. i just want to scream at everyone to wake up! impotence sucks ass, right bob dole?
i’ve been wanting to comment on quite a few of your posts recently, but i’ve been out of town for the last two weeks. reading all of the posts i missed leaves me kinda at a loss as to where to begin.
i argue with people EVERY day about the Israeli attacks, climate change, peak oil, population overshoot, corruption, ect, ect and i just want to scream at them for being so stupid and disinterested.
thank you again for everything you do here and elsewhere. it is refreshing to “hear” the words of someone who “gets it”.
Thanks. I don’t suppose arguing does any good, it’s another one of those too late and too far gone issues. I still do my fair share of it, but I’m hard headed.
I suspect we are all seriously wasting our time trying to put the brakes on. We should have started a hundred years ago when the population was of a manageble size and people were still intelligent enough to listen. Except that the science wasn’t there, so that couldn’t have happened then either.
Isn’t it ironic that by the time we develop the technology to figure out what we’ve done wrong (scientifically speaking), it’s too late to do a damned thing about it?
Which reveals just how far off the mark we’ve been with our approach to human nature, the world and our place within it.
There were people telling us (western civilization) a very long time ago that the path we were on was the way of destruction, but we didn’t listen then like we’re not listening now.
The gods of technology and science have like all the others, proven to be false, incontinent and impotent.
what is ironic about the people who told us that the path led to destruction were people we refer to as geniuses. the science may not have been there, but the understanding was and it was clearly ignored.
i, too, am hard headed for i refuse to allow the ignorance that pours from people’s mouths to stand unchallenged. i keep trying to make a closed mind explode or short out, but so far no luck. there is always tomorrow!
