Tin Foil Hattery

The US military is keenly aware of climate change and the risks associated, despite rampant interference and denial by the Trump Administration.

It’s occurred to me (putting on tin-foil hat) that the US government doesn’t want people to know what climate change actually means, and how it will drastically affect the American way of life. But this is useless speculation. The nefarious “plans to depopulate the world” aren’t at all what the connedspiracy idiots claim (and this very group denies climate change).

What Lies Beneath (all the lies and disinformation)

There is always more in the news on climate. And it is always bad – if you toss out the false claims, invisible technology and false hopium that is usually interjected into these articles.

If you just stick to the known facts, you will quickly realize that we’re still not being told the whole scope of the problem facing humanity. By now, you will probably also realize that this withholding has been deliberate for many, many years.

We Don’t Have As Much Time As Everyone Thinks

I cannot find any reason to doubt these conclusions, can you?

Estimating the warming rate for each, the highest rate is for the data from Cowtan & Way, a whopping 1.91 ± 0.24 °C per century. The “±” indicates a 95% confidence interval, so the real rate is almost surely between 1.67 and 2.15 °C per century. At those rates, we’ll reach extremely bad sometime between 2036 and 2042….

Trolling America

I’ve been doing some research on the Internet Research Agency (IRA), or Russian troll farm. There’s no doubt at all that Russian trolling of social media, websites, articles and commentary has reached a fever pitch. I’m still trying to discern the overall goal of this activity – but it might just be too obvious, meaning that “division” is what it is all about. Divide Americans (and other countries) and make them disbelieve everything, angry at everyone and distrustful of everyone.

Disconnected From Reality

I almost don’t want to write this article, because every time I do something like this, it never goes well, although it should if people were truly interested in learning. But we are no longer dealing with people who are healthy with their perception and acceptance of reality. Everything to them is “fake news” now if it challenges their preconceived bias (and ignorance). So you can’t actually tell them or share with them anything – nothing gets past their biased filtering system. And if you DO try to shed some “real truth” on a topic or subject – it generally backfires.

Musings About Losing Earth

Ho hum… there has been a lot going on since the last time I bothered to weigh in on climate collapse. Vast swaths of California are still burning, as is my own region, and in British Columbia. The air so thick with smoke here, visibility is down to 100 yards, and the most of the fires are hundreds of miles away. But the real news is the useless discussion going on about a New York Time’s article, “Losing Earth“.

Trump Collusion Claims

The Trump saga continues to unfold: Brennen Hits Back At Trump

In his article on Thursday, Brennan claimed that the question was not if collusion took place, but whether it “constituted criminally liable conspiracy, whether obstruction of justice occurred to cover up any collusion or conspiracy, and how many members of ‘Trump Incorporated’” had “attempted to defraud the government by laundering and concealing the movement of money into their pockets”.

The Men Who Made Us Fat

There’s an interesting article in the Guardian about why waist lines have exploded so rapidly. We’re in a new age of obesity. How did it happen?

The shift has not happened by accident. As Jacques Peretti argued in his film The Men Who Made Us Fat, food companies have invested heavily in designing products that use sugar to bypass our natural appetite control mechanisms, and in packaging and promoting these products to break down what remains of our defences, including through the use of subliminal scents. They employ an army of food scientists and psychologists to trick us into eating more than we need, while their advertisers use the latest findings in neuroscience to overcome our resistance.

People Prefer Fake News

Quote:

Civilization was built on people’s ability to suppress their baser instincts—their tendencies towards tribalism and narcissism, their penchant for slaughtering each other over superficial and imagined differences. It took millennia of education and advancement for us to learn how to not do this. Much of this education and advancement revolved around a respect for science, public debate, rational argument, putting multiple institutions in power to balance one another, and so on. We’ve barely even gotten it right the couple hundred years we’ve had it.
