New Rainy Day prices, effective October 1st are coming.  Rainy Day has also said that they expect another price increase before the end of the year.

Julian Assange has been declared “an enemy of the State“, on par with the Taliban, or the fake al-Qaeda (CIA) network.

That’s too bad. Opposing the illegal crimes of the U.S Government publicly can now get you on the kill list.  See The NDAA and Obama’s secret ‘Kill List’—are you on it? for more on this.

How Do You Take Your Poison?

‘You get the point. Obama is not in charge. Romney would not be in charge. Politicians are the public face of corporate power. They are corporate employees. Their personal narratives, their promises, their rhetoric and their idiosyncrasies are meaningless.”

How Do You Take Your Poison?

It’s refreshing in a morbid sort of way, to know that others realize just utterly ineffective it is to “vote” for the “lesser evil” in the next (s)Election.  It’s poison, no matter how you slice it, dice it or justify it, it’s going to hurt and none of us are going to like it.

Arctic Ice Update

A good overview on just how fast and how far gone the ice in the Arctic is now:

Arctic Ice Loss Stuns Science

If you have now seen this, what you have really witnessed is the ‘canary in the coal mine’ gasping for its last breath of breathable air.

The loss of the Arctic ice is going to cause extreme climate problems world wide as the oceans continue to heat up.

I’ve been watching this all summer and lately, been real quiet about what this means because I do not think people can accept the truth.

Book Report

New food prices in a couple of weeks. You have been warned.  Sales volume is certainly picking up, but I’ve seen people upset about what is happening.

It will only get worse. Crop losses / climate change effects are increasing all over the world.  If you follow Desdemona, Fire Earth or this blog, you’ll know what’s been going on.

The Amerikan media rarely tells us the stories we need to here, concentrating instead on stupid inanities like this “Obama’s worst gaffe yet”– “You can’t change Washington from the inside“.

We Are Now One Year Away From Global Food Riots

This is an interesting article, that explains that we are now about one year away from global food riots – (these did happen, just not here).

What’s the number one reason we riot? The plausible, justifiable motivations of trampled-upon humanfolk to fight back are many—poverty, oppression, disenfranchisement, etc—but the big one is more primal than any of the above. It’s hunger, plain and simple. If there’s a single factor that reliably sparks social unrest, it’s food becoming too scarce or too expensive. So argues a group of complex systems theorists in Cambridge, and it makes sense.

Advocating Hopelessness

I came across this earlier today:

John Gray, in his book Straw Dogs, concludes that the only way our civilization can continue is by desolating the Earth, at an accelerating rate, until it is exhausted, and that this is precisely what we will do. Although I grieve for what we have done to our planet, and the destruction and suffering we cause and condone every day, I grieve much more for what we will do in the coming generation, in the desperate folly to try to keep it going just a little longer. There will be more destruction, more suffering, more misery, more desolation in the generation to come, I fear, than in all the generations past combined. The worst atrocities always occur when things are most desperate and hopeless.

I’ll mention several developments: You can now sail a sailboat through the Arctic, an “almost” first in human history.

Of course, watchers should all know that we’ve made history again in the Arctic, with new records now being set daily for ice loss. We’re about a month out for the melt to stop too, so expect daily records to be smashed until things finally stop melting.
