A new study out reveals that the western United States will experience higher drought conditions due to global climate change. It’s a bit ironic, considering our current snowfall levels, but they’ve accounted for that too:
Those findings may come as a surprise this year, when the West is getting so much snow that skiers and snowmobilers are dying in avalanches in places that normally don’t get that much snow.
50 years of data and computer modeling have led researched to believe that drought will now affect much of the West. This will lead to more forest fires, topsoil loss, even power generation failures.
